Tv serials are for entertainment lets not link them with religion. If india is a hindu dominated country then it's programmes will show hindu way of worship which is logical & correct. Do Islamic channels not show muslim rituals. Lets grow above all this & make a strong India. if afghans dont want to see our programmes then let them go to hell
It seems that Afghanistan is still ruled by the Taliban if they ban Indian T.V. because it shows Hindu culture. Such intolerance of other faiths resulted in the creation of Pakistan, the Taliban and Al-Quida.

This should be taken very seriously by our govt.If our govt keeps quite then Taliban will go further and ban anything and everything native to INDIA saying it is UnIslamic. At the same time we need to keep in mind that India has also banned many western channels saying they are against Indian culture and they harm our culture. I don't know what change America has made in Afghanistan. Everything looks pretty similar even after the war. We still have our soldiers sacrifising their lives in Kashmir fighting terrorism.

hello Mr. Gyan..what you have written above regarding Islam is completely untrue and shows nothing but your ignorance(dnt mean to offend you)...its like a 12 year old child has just picked up a book on surgery..and the next hour he wants to perform a major operation...so my humble advice is that before speaking about something..you should confirm it and go in depth..for eg. the verse you have quoted is about this person zul qarnain who had travelled the world..n its a metaphor used by quran that he had travelled until where the sun sets..u have to know the Arabic language to understand this and also the translation of the word hamiyah is not muddy pool ( once again u hav to knw arabic language to understand that one word can have two meanings...and in islam if u oppose something which is in quran or the sayings of prophet Muhammed..then only can u be declared an apostate and no where in quran or the sayings does it say that earth is flat and you have misquoted sheikh Bin Baz coz he has never said it ( n let me also tell you that he is a very big scholar but to say that he is the greatest is again one of your many mistakes..so stop taking verses out of context and stop spreading hatred!! you know for all your five points you have made..five articles can be written on how wrongly you have mis-interpreted them..so once again...think and confirm before you write anything..if I have offended you by any chance then i do apologise but i felt this had to be said...God bless you!!

Let's be clear. TV soaps mean only business and they encash on sentiments of the majority. In this case these serials are targetted mostly to Indian audience, they tend to have more religious content. If other countries don't like that then it is not our fault. One has to leave to people to decide what they have to see and what not. Indian channels are not forcing people in Afghanistan at gun point to watch their serials, are they?
Is it a subject worth discussing. TV Serials are marketable products. A TV Serial Producer goes by what kind of stories or scenes have larger viewership so that he could get more revenue through advertisement. There is no question of Hindu Way or Islamic Way. There are quite a number of channels which only preaches Christianity. Such channels are able to thrive because of funding from across the world. Money is the ruling factor and certainly I don't think religion plays any role in this.

good observation Ann... have to say muslim want everone to acocmadate them but dont budge an inch on their relegion ... look at this thread and you will find that as a glaring example ..... hahahah I dont claim to be a know all but most of the religions preach tolerance and communal binding with other faiths but not islam ( at lest the way these neo-radicalised- muslims interpt it).... there is lot that can be said but I prefer not to get in ot any kind of mud slinging
Why does not the Afghan Govt ban Indian aid also.why accept Indian money when Indian values are anethma to you.Strange Islamic logic,scratch the surface of any muslim and you will find an intolerant Talibanic core beneath.

who told you to send money and aid. There are many NATO countries sending good sum of financial aid not India. Your government is fooling you.
I agree with Mr Ravikant Bhat in his argument that the question should not be about hinduism in first place. The Teleseries targets our population and if others find it unacceptable thats their problem. There is no harm in showing our culture, the teleseries also concentrate in showing other cultures also equally. this discussion just clashes and invokes fury which can be avoided
