dude the serials may be unislamic, but they are also un-hindu. just because a certain bunch of people cannot think beyond sick plots, it doesnt mean that ALL hindus are like that, just the same way that all Muslims are not terrorists. and it is not a platform to "promote" hinduism. In fact, the evil, sick plots would DEMOTE hinduism and people would want to look away!!
Apart from the fact that many of these serials are tear-jerkers, have a hollow story-line and are clearly perverted, each sovereign nation has the right to ban or allow any TV program or book. Who are we to interfere in the Afghans' internal matters?

I agree. Besides, no religion can in anyway save anybody. It's a well known fact that evil spreads faster. Hence some of the comments reflect this fact, when they highlight that some thought is gaining prominence. But, they are unaware that no one effort of man to reach God (religion) can save mankind, it's only God's effort to reach mankind, that can save us. It's simple, man is man, cannot think beyond that, God is Almighty, Sovereign, Alone Able to Save. Hope people understand it...
showa the way of life for people with the helps Vedas and shastras, in which "Bahagavat Gita" is the DIAMOND of all vedas. It's enough to lead a good life.
If a serial shows a charector worshipping according to a particular religion, then how it does amount to promoting that religion?
There are numerous movies that show muslims kneeling down on roads and christians worshiping cross sticks. Did we ever call that as promoting imported religions?
This is a classic case of intolorence. The word idol worship is offensive. We Hindus do not worship idols, we worship the God. We use idols only for the concentration purpose.
I am not sure why you are expecting readers to comment on Afghan governments decision. Just ask Indian government why satanic verses or Da Vinci code is banned in India. Useless media fails every bit in doing a fair job with issues grappling India and you are worried about Indian television in Afganistan.
In some ways i agree with the afgan government if the motive was secular there would be a serial episode devoted to bakar Id or to any muslim or sikh festival. even in schools while hindu and christian festivals are celebrated i have never heard of muslim festivals being arranged

I think you are a disillusioned fellow eager to prove your secularism. But, stupid the families are Hindu in the serials, how do u expect a hindu family to celebrate a muslim or a christian festivals.
If serials in HINDUSTAN will not promote hindu way of life than where they will be gettig promoted? Do you think serials in chritian or islamic country will do so? Come to senses please!!
