I agree with Rediff Review 1

I saw Eklavya, being a regular at reading reviews before watching, subconsciuoly my expectations were high but I kept telling myself it would not be so good so that I would like it.

But I was highly disappointed. Its one of the movies which is not trash but completely half baked. Whether it was the characters, plot, message or anything there was nothing that really kept you on the edge or draw your emotions or awe inspiring. As a viewer it was like watching a commentary.

Seeing it in London some very serious scenes drew laughter which would have massively disheartened the film makers. Scenes like Said withdrawing to kiss on second attempt from Vidya, the Amitabh and Saif scene at the end. A few more I cant recall.

All in all Films under VC banner are better when directed by other than Vinod Chopra. I am a fan of VC otherwise, of his vision and the kind of cinema his house dish out. Much better than some very ordinary melodramatic stuff dished out by big movie houses and go on to become hits but are not at all in the league of Munnabhia, Parineeta, Omkara, Rang De etc

Even Mission Kashmir was too loud making it louder was Hrithik. We all like Parinda and 1942 but sorry to say Eklavya for me was very disappointing.

Once again VC said Amitabh in this movie is like never before, which was what he said about Bobby Deol before Kareeb but I didnt find him that great.

So may be Mr. Chopra needs to revisit his approach as a director.

You are not right Mr.Raja Sen ( Change rating to * * * * * )

I think you were wrong in your perception of this movie Mr.Raja Sen. This movie deserves more than 5 STARS.

A TRULY MAGNIFICIENT MASTERPIECE DIRECTED WITH FLAWLESS DIRECTION BY VIDHU VINOD.

This movie is far far better than GURU. Abhishek you got to pull up your socks on your acting skills, and never ever try to copy others.

I could see SRK frowning at me reading this message:). I am really dying to see some original flicks like DDLJ from SRK too

People wo are despising this movie were either "SLEEPING" or rather too busy with gulping down packets of "POPCORNS". In the end they didnt grasp the essence of this masterpiece.

The movie gets a 6 out of 10!
by Akaviri on Feb 18, 2007 12:36 PM

This movie has superb cinematography and artwork, very intelligent direction, and some awesome acting from Amitabh and Saif. It is much better than Guru, and much much better than Dhoom 2 and other similar movies. Still, it could have been much better! Its biggest drawback is that it is only about 2 hours long. The story, though good, could have been extended and the quota of thrills could have been pumped up ... but these opportunities were just not acted upon. As a result it never really gets to involve the viewer or get him to the edge of his seat. The characters are just not developed enough, and people like Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Sharmila Tagore have really minuscule roles. Still I would suggest you go and see the movie on the big screen because there are several good things here that you don't get to see in other Hindi movies. But be warned: when you finally walk out of the theatre, you might get this feeling that you just finished watching a play ... rather than a full fledged movie with A-grade stars!

WORTH A WATCH

GREAT! 5 STAR FOR THE FILM AND OUR MR. AMITABH BACHCHAN. ITS A MASTER PIECE WITH THE LEGEND Mr. BACHCHAN GIVING ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMANCE. IT WAS ALSO EXCITING TO SEE THE PROMOS OF 'TALISMAN' AND ITS FOR SURE THAT Mr. BACHCHAN WILL AGAIN GIVE THE PERFORMANCE WHICH WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR YEARS TO COME. YOU CAN IGNORE ALL MOVIES BUT NOT THE ONE CONTAINING Mr. BACHCHAN IN IT.

Its nothing but waste of time and money
by Akhilendra Goswami on Feb 18, 2007 10:22 AM

I think a movie should contain at least one of the following.
Story, Dialog, Action, Stunts or Music or songs. I have no clue how someone can make such movie? Guys, its a serious advice just don't waste your time and money. If you don't belive me then ask some of your friend who has watched this for a frank opinion. It looks like rediff rating is just BAISED.
