Mr. Raja Sen ram gopal verma is back........I think its the better effort than company....I am feeling sorry for rediff after ur review...well for readers i'll just say awesome movie....Amitabh is God.....Abhishek is not too far.....cheers!
Mr Raja, It is always easier said than done and putting all those high funda critics' words in the review may not take more than a day but making such a movie needs too much thinking which is way beyond the reach of CRITICS. And only one thing can be said about the movie DAMN EXCELLANT..because we as audience do feel/experience the incidents & characters and everything is APT in its own sense.Yes, one thing thats acceptable is that the movie is not bigger than COMPANY but no probs its different. So RAMUji...i just hope it will be a huger hit than COMPANY.
Let me admit that I am impressed by Sarkar, although I was little disappointed to note that the movie begins with a narration of a hapless man seeking Sarkar's help, same as in Godfather. But, thereafter I felt elated as the plot progressed. Basically, Ramgopal Verma makes it very clear in the beginning that he is influenced by Godfather and Sarkar is his tribute to Godfather.
The casting is excellent, Amitabh, Abhishek are highly impressive and Kay Kay is outstanding. Amidst the clutter of characters Ramgopal Verma manages to carve an interesting story with his directorial excellence.
The movie is very well edited. Post interval developments are predictable, but still viewers are glued to the screen.
Yes, it is perfectly agrreable that female characters do not have any 'say' in the entire movie and too many characters probably dilute the essence, but that certainly does not make Sarkar a bad movie.
Rediff review is like cricket match without umpire. Reviewer must work and behave like umpire of cricket. He must see all films as one vision and weight all with one perspective. He must not compare cricket with football or hocky. Cricket is cricket. Thus Bollywood is Bollywood and Hollywood is nothing in compared to Hollywood. Bollywood is representation of great culture of india. We should see Bollywood films with eyes and heart of India than you can give judgement like umpire of Cricket and can review a Bollywood film. Hollywood films are nothing for Hindi films fan like me as I have no knowledge of Hollywood films and I hardly saw few Holywood films. I never heard the name "Godfather" before so there is no chance to compare.I also believe that to copy or inspiration is not bad. Sarkar is a hit film of Amitabh, Abhishek and RGV.
Sarkar is a good Film and the reviewer seems to be having Insomina as he remembers Ram Gopal Verma as the Director of Company instead of his other classics like Rangeela, Satya, Kaun & Bhoot.
When you compare ANY Don based film with Godfather, it will obviously look shabby ... So reviewer's Stand of comapring the two is incorrect.
