High Speed trains are useless for a country like India. Instead we should develop our Aviation sector. The mindless aping of other countries is not needed. Think innovatively.

Well it worked not only for the advanced western european countries but to asian economies and to emerging giant china as well. But lets just turn a blind eye. We should focus on a private sector aviation industry that almost always runs in losses and caters to a few? And neglect something potentially catering to large populations spread over long distances? Wow you are a genius man!

You are a Great dreamer and visionary aren't ya? your biggest dream for your kid would be to pass 8th std.
Indian Railways needs to do a lot of house keeping first like providing clean toilets with running water and comfortable compartments and running trains on time (for heaven' sake), before going high-tech. Having high speed trains between big cities (and pretending that all is well), while turning a blind eye to the reality elsewhere is step-motherly.

correct . However after mumbai pune expressway started lot of other expressways have been constructed and now you have a lot of freeways where you can drive above 100 km /hr easily and smoothly. So if they construct and implement one high speed rail system from mumbai to ahmedabad for example then other connectiions will follow in a big way.
No need to do such things; Instead of wasting money on such things we should try to maintain properly what we already have. These trains are not the absolute need of the hour; Instead railway should concentrate on providing good facilities in the train, join the North-East with main India etc etc;

Oye Kake, instead of wanting your kids to be an engineer i am sure you would want them to be a maintenance mechanic.
If India don't grow in future with more then 10 percent GDP mor then China then very soon all Asia and India will become in control of china and his ally pakistan. China is already a superpower and 2nd largest Economy in the world.China army is capable to destroy any spy satellites in sky,china has fastest train in the world. India is a very small fry in front of him. Most powerful country in the world USA is also under 1 trillion debt of China.
