Why not use ethanol mixed diesel petrol in all vehicles right away ?
by Samir V on May 24, 2007 04:47 PM  | Hide replies

We citizens in metro cities talk a lot about non functioning of govt officals, ministers and so on. But what do we do ourselves ?

India spends a fortune in importing oil thru foregigh currency, which runs our cars/ buses and taxis. a 10% Ethanol blended petrol saves environment, saves India's precious foreign exchanges.

Should we all, so called concerned citizens, who have cars and other vehicles, use Ethanol blended petrol/ diesels only ?

why to oppose SEZs
by Naveen Joshi on May 24, 2007 04:43 PM  | Hide replies

If any body is opposing SEZs then i think he/she is the number 1 enemy of that state.
If a company opens its branch in any state, for example, in UP then it will require some shops for the employees who enjoy cigrates, tea, coffie during break hours, some food restaurants will also open in that area for lunch & dinner. Indirectly, lots of people will get work in this way.
waise bhi UP me koi bhi company apni Branch khola nahi chati or us pe bhi agar SEZs reject karegi sarkar to UP k log to bhuko marenge...
Sarkari naukri lagti nahi hai..... kuch apna kaam karna chate hain to Sarkar karne nahi de rahi hai.....
Janta kare to kya kare.....
UP ki janta ka decision hai ab UP ki janta ko he bhukatna hoga.....
bhugto ab....
apni behan (sister) Mayawati ko.....

do remember the entire relinace succes story is by gaining access to national resources like oil and gas by bribing the politicans who have desreetily encouraged reliance over the indian PSUs like ONGC and GAIL.

Do u have valid proof for your statement? If yes proceed to court or shut your mouth up. You are blaming industrialists as if all politicians are clean. Also just check your inner self, are you free from all sins? u never bribed / helped in bribing acts?

Good Job
by Bob Seth on May 24, 2007 04:41 PM  | Hide replies

good to know mayawati has the guts, definately reliance or no reliance UP will develop. But her policy of not allowing land grabbing under the guise of developmnet is commendable even the marxists have become the henchmen of the rich industralist. i strongly feel she can be the secular force which india needs. A good alternative for the Congress

another state turning WB, Kerala way
by brahman on May 24, 2007 04:36 PM  | Hide replies

Somebody has reported Roothless message with above heading as abuse, together with my remarks... here is my observation:

Roothless - while I am not commenting on WB, I have the following to say about Kerala
1. Kerala ranks 1st in literacy
2. Kerala tops the tourism map
3. Kerala tops for its landscape and secularism
4. Kerala's agricultural production increases every year
5. Kerala's size with its tourism locations and agricultural lands, does not provide enough space for major industries to be set up. Since the maximum students are highly qualified and lacking the right employment in Kerala, they migrate to other states/countries and develop their career successfully thus providing financial assistance to their homestate.
If you have missed a story appeared in Rediff a couple of days back, then read it again (URL below) on Kerala's present CM Achuthanandan and the industrial initiatives continued by him as also the stern action taken against the land grabbers, demolition of illegal multistory buildings (owned by his own party members), costal land grabbing mafia etc.
A CM, whichever party he belongs to, who has the right vision about the state's development will definitely do his duty irrespect of the resistance and oppositions...
TVR Shenoy's column - The Chief Minister, who is making a difference. http://www.rediff.com/news/2007/may/22flip.htm

We all seem to be living in India only because of geographical compulsions. Even after 60 years we are still mallus, madrasis and biharis and have negative stereotypes of everyone else other than US. India has a great future.

hello... is the ability to speak/write a peculiar language (english) is the criteria to gauge a persons education, culture, intelligence, career progress, etc.. In that case, the western countries should not have any poor, unemployed people et all...they should have all extraordinary human beings, since even a child of 1 year old speaks english? what say?

Dear Brahman, Remember, mallus actually has to leave his home state to grow. There are no good employment opportunities for them in kerela. If that been the case for all states / nations, where from someone will be getting opportunities.

A 11,000 crore project - how much benefit UP could have got- just whimsically thrown away. If Mulayam was kamchor, then what is Mayawati?????

Spare the State- Chief Minister
by vishal singh on May 24, 2007 04:29 PM  | Hide replies

This Government is gonna take UP back to pre historic times and will ruin whatever little chances the state had to come up to the level of Punjab or Gujarat. Officials will be suspended or transfered for bad upkeep of Ambedkar Park but no action will be taken for all other corrupt activites as they are being patronised by this corrupt government.
