The election debacle of the BJp was not totally unexpected for me. The message that they have tried to potray does not go down well with a big section of the electorate which is the youth. The youth wants to see development. Religion comes a distant second to them when it comes to politics. The BJP has to change its ideology towards minorities if it wants to come back as a serious option to the Congress. Varun Gandhi was a black mark. He will never be able to win back the trust of the people of India. India is a secular country and will always remain so. And India and Indians will progress only if it remains secular. L.K. Advani should retire from politics and the younger leaders like Arun jaitley should shoulder the task of rebuilding the party. Sidelining leaders like Modi should be the first step in that direction.

You are mistaken on one point: "India is a secular country and will always remain so." It will not 'REMAIN' secular mark my words, just wait for 15-20 years and see what happens. The minorities(growing in geometric progression) will outnumber us and this will become a Islamic state ruled by taliban.
It is necessary that BJP should do visibly something which should take away a wrong perception about it as being acomunal party.
Work for construction both temple and Masjid at Ayodhya, work out atrategy through interfaith dialouge to be innovatively initiated as a secualar national initiative for which BJP should get empowered by some so called secular forces.
i know many people here r shouting secular congress...secular congress and ridiculing BJP as communal...communal.........but remember 1 thing....1 day will come when there will be 40% muslims and 20% cristians and then hindus will be in the minority.... then i will ask you people that how r u feeling to be living in a secular nation and that time u people would be answerable. that time u will realise the importance of leaders like mr L K ADVANI and the services they have done 4 the country..... but by then it will be 2 late and u people will cry on the fate of this country..... REMEMBER MY WORDS....AND REMEMBER UR CHOICE.

My friend,Hindus vote on the basis of caste.Just taks a close look at some of the regional leaders in the country and the caste profile.You will come to know.
No one needs to give a damn to these pro-Hindutva websites .They are sore losers who cannot stand the loss of their party ; and are not ready to accept defeat like a true sport .
Fantastically written Sri Raman.I couldnt agree with you more.I am a pro BJP man and I dont have shame to admit that congress have done really well and Rahul Gandhi in particular has really played a very important role.BJP has to be accomadative of all sections of the society and seriously think about getting fresh faces and give responsibility.secondly, own responsibility for the Gujarat riots and APOLOGISE TO MUSLIMS and the whole nation and has to promise to people that this wont happen again.

i agree with u people now are looking more towards development and jobs. we dont want peoples who fight election in the name of god. thats what we people have showed in these election. If we keep the same pace growth rate, we indian are not so far to be NO 1 inthe world.

Apology is one of the real remedies to cure the wounds of minds. All religions should come forward with this for their misbehaviours towards other communities. Let us all keep mutual understanding, and go for our nation's development and think as a NATION. Let every religion think Indian nationality is the first priority and religion only as the last part. It is too early in the day to write off influence of Narendra Modi on Indian political scenario. BJP lost because of LK Advani's misplaced slanging match with MM Singh. In the process the BJP lost much of its philosophy that was to be communicated to the electorate. BSP lost because of premature declaration by its czarina of her desire to become the PM. She has no qualification for this post except that as a 'dalit ki beti' she has been a lady Shahjahan. Lalu Yadav lost because of his stubborness. MS Yadav lost because of Amar Singh and Azam Khan rivalry.
