Jogender you are right. In any other country he would have been praised even higher than here and respected more deeply than what he is here.

Sachin is better than all youngstars
by ALLADI on Feb 23, 2012 10:58 PM  | Hide replies

There is no doubt that present Sachin is much more inferior than past Sachin but same time it must be accepted that present Sachin is much more superior than all the present Indian players. Hence he must be in Indian team. And it will be very much fruitful for Indian team if he is made as captain to over come from present debacle

KAPIL DEV REPLACEMENT
by Rajiv kanwar on Feb 23, 2012 10:51 PM  | Hide replies

Kapil Dev himself dragged his career to break the richard hadlee record.I guess he forgot that..and why should sachin retire.. this is his choice.it is selectors job to choose him or not.

No Kapil dragged on to get to that record. It was painful to see him like that.

have you watched cricket in early 90s ? if yes, you wouldn't have uttered this..Kapil was a failure for more than 2 years, occasionally he was good with his bat but became a liability with the ball. till he played to bream Hadlee's record.

the problem is no selector has the guts and conviction to displease Sachin, he is the most powerful and influential person in Indian sport. These selectors are all chamchas trying to please their bosses and hold on to their jobs for as long as possible

SALUTE TO SACHIN AND HIS FEATS. NO DOUBTS ABOUT THAT. BUT.....INDIA DID NOT PERISH WHEN MAHATMA GANDHI DIED, OR WHEN KAPIL DEV OR PRASANNA RETIRED! THE FLAG HAS TO BE PASSED ON TO THE NEXT GEN! SOONER THE BETTER!

I am fully agree with you. Sachin is a very very good world class player. But there is a sun rise & sun set. Sachin is no doubt a very good human being too. He is trying his best to retire with a due respect. But there is a sun set & this great son of a India should also sets down calmly & quietly.
