In a country where people are measured by their charm and not by their performance, what else do you expect. Sachin has been an over-rated cricketer who had never performed in the need of the hour. 99% of the these cricketers(especially Indians) were shown doors as they were not ready to quit when they were in the prime of their form. I am sure Sachin will also meet the same fate.

In Sane:
Define "need of the hour"... When he performed in WC league matches, THOSE were not the need of the hour... Now we are facing eviction in CB series, so suddenly league matches have become "need of the hour"? :)
. Vengsarkar is right there is no replacement for all time great Sachin and there will not be any.
Who can replace all time great? ! ! !
Still India have to move forward.
There are certainly new faces like Rahane, Mukund, Dhavan or even Pujara can start learning, If BCCI provides opportunity to settle down them on top of the batting order.
Immediate announcement from BCCI: If Sachin retires tomorrow india will play with only 10 men as a mark of respect. There is no replacement for Sachin.
its an insult to India if anyone feels that no one can replace an individual even if he is Sachin. This is a country of 100 crore population. If some senior had not retired Sachin also would not have got to play at such a young age. Sachin should realise that and quit for a better future for Indian cricket. There are youngsters who would die for a place in the national team. Injured and aged bodies slow down the entire team and rythm. Ponting is any day more physically fit and better fielder, runner than Sachin. Even he had to retire. We should stop this hero worship and stop living in past glory and think practically. Sentiments and emotions should not dictate terms to Cricket. No individual is bigger than the sport. Indian cricket will survive and continue with or without Sachin... Vengsarkar is a rotten guy who is only obsessed with playing politics and making money. Everyone wants to give their best but when u realise that you need a break and rest for every 2 matches, it is time to rethink. Certainly Sachin is not playing half as well as he did 5 years back.

But who all are playing well enough in the young brigade to replace him.No one is indispensable, vegi has not implied that at all. If we need to retire Sachin just because he is 39 and not at par with his own great standards, there is no one in sight who is half as good as a not so good Tendulkar.Repalcements have to be groomed in the next year or two. Till then gradual phasing out would be the better option than abruptly retiring those who are still better than the incoming probables.

true. give chance to youngsters n they vl perform. even sachin n dravid, also needed boost to their career n support during their initial years. dravid was a flop initially in odi, but persistence with him showed that he was a class player. similarly, youngsters need to b shown confidence in them to prosper.

what you say may be fine from your perspective. but one point, Sachin didn't get a chance in 1989 because some seniors retired. He forced himself to the team by way of his performances and genius at that early age. No one could have made him wait. Show me one youngstar who can claim a place in the side by the sheer weight of the domestic performances. So don't try to compare Sachin with others.
Sachin should take immediate retiement. He is not indispesable. There are so many talents in India. The Mubaikars fooling the rest of the country. India lost the game most times when he scored a century. Shoe him the door.
Brahmin Lobby at it again .. sometimes I ashamed of being with these racist castiest bunch of morons .. they feel pride in calling themselves as descendant from Germany ... ...anyways GavasKAR, Shastri , VengsarKAR ... all Brahmins will support TendulKAR ... god save this country ...

brahmins and mumbaikars especially because they know how important it is to keep praising Sachin at the slightest oppurtunity because Sachin is one of the most influential and powerful celebrities in Indian sport. The chamchas like Vengsarkar will destroy Indian cricket and careers of many young aspiring talents

Boy!! it is you who is bringing caste aspect into this. We only are a collection of castes it seems, where are the proud Indians I wonder, who would be proud of our heroes.
what do you mean tht we don't have any replacement for him....are we genuinely trying to find one? Just like how Team india settled on a few youngsters back in early 2000s like yuvi, harbhajan, sehwag etc now they have settled on rohit, raina....as if we don't have any other players in the waiting....they are taking it for granted....why can't they give chance to manoj tiwari or pujara when raina and rohit have been failing persistently....
it will be very bad if Dhoni is playing only his near and dear one's and not letting outsiders to occupy the spot...

But we should have one.. Enough of burdens.. let us write sachin's name in history and build a team of 11 players.....
