SACHIN- please QUIT
by Prem Sethi on Feb 23, 2012 09:33 PM

People of India first asked "After Nehru who?"
Again they asked "After Indir Who?" Let us not repeat the question for an ordinary criceter now.
LET SACHIN retire gracefully without delay or else he will be kicked out

Just put out players like Sehwag, Dhoni, Raina out of the team and see what the team does with Sachin Tendulkar alone the senior and test all the newbies.

What is happening is that Dhoni is trying to project his failure as a batsman on Sachin Tenduklar. Shame on him. Also, Sehwag should be rested along with Suresh Raina because these are fit for domestic cricket only.

People criticizing Sachin
by J P on Feb 23, 2012 09:26 PM  | Hide replies

If Sachin does not score: He should be out of the team.
If Sachin Scores and India wins: He is selfish, so he should be out.
If Sachin scores and India loses: Whenever Sachin plays India loses. So he should be out.

It appears that however he plays, some people just want him out.

Sir,

The last One Day Series he played before this series was the World Cup.

Agreed, he has failed in tests recently. But that can happen to anyone. Even in the tests concluded recently, he was the most comfortable batsman against the Aussie attack (if you have seen him bat).

You may sometimes need to look for answers beyond just the wins/ losses.

COUNTRY OF 130 MILLION-TO REPLACE SACHIN ATLEAST WITH ONE:
by Srinivasan Renganathan on Feb 23, 2012 09:25 PM  | Hide replies

To all youngisthans Justify these (Mongisthans) players contribution in the team.
1.Rohit Sharma.
2.Sewhag.
3.Zaheer Khan.
4.Praveen Kumar.
5.Raina.
6.Jadeja.
FYI, Gambhir in the last 2 years had played only 3 worthful innings. Virat Kohli is just a flash in the pan without any consistency. Irfan Pathan can never be used as a main bowler but only as a supporting 6th bowler. Ashwin , Rahul Sharma , Umesh & Vinay are the only new comers in the teams. Other fellows had minumum players 70-80 matches between them.
Then why blame Sachin alone. Fools who quote ponting as an example should realise that australians are having minimum 5 worthful players to replace ponting like Watson, Mitchell Marsh.. etc..
But with whom are you going to replace Sachin, with. Manoj Tiwary????? How many centuries did he hit. If the same Sewhag who scored 219 in ODI’s a few months back is struggling, what will a Tiwary, Rahace can do. If they should be rotated, let Greats like Rohit Sharma, Raina, Jadeja be replaced with & not with Sachin. Sachin is not playing well, but that dosent mean that others are playing wonderfully. Maximum Rahane will score 5 & Tiwari will score 8 in Australian conditions presently. So, it is useless to blame Sachin alone.
Afterall how much did Dhoni scored in the tests. If Dhoni, with his useless Helicopter shot can be in the team, anybody can be.
Its a irony about the state of Indian cricket than still a replacement for 39 year old cricketeer is not found e

I agree with you.... those who say are either jealous or are not able to see his rise to glory that cannot be touched by anybody for times to come....

The only thing happened during this series along with test matches is that the players at top were getting out suddenly and it brought immense pressure on Tendulkar and he had play under pressure.

Sachin is not a super hero or a super selector
by mandook on Feb 23, 2012 09:20 PM  | Hide replies

Vengsarkar is wrong. He says this on regional bias. Sachin does not know when to retire. He has miserably failed in the last five or more innings. He ought to have retired voluntarily in good grace. When he does not know this simple thing, he should be shown the door by the selectors. It is not for Sachin himself to decide when he has to retire, there are national interests involved and the nation cannot afford to surrender national interests in the interests of the individual player seeking endemically to reach the coveted 100th hundred.
