if his mere presence can be so influential then Sachin should be made the coach or mentor....atleast it will be ensured that Vengsarkar was speaking the truth and it could not be that Sachin's position and power are influecning some ex-greats to act like chamchaas...

Vengsarkar on Tendulkar
by Santosh Ghirnikar on Feb 25, 2012 04:42 AM  | Hide replies

Typical Indian response of bowing to imaginary Gods like Tendulkar. News flash to Vengsarkar: Tendulkar is not the future of Indian cricket. The sooner we accept this and move on to bringing in new players the better off we will be in the long run. Yes, initially we will lose a lot without the big 3 or 4 or whatever (nothing different from what is already happening), but in time this baptism by fire of the youngsters will reap rich rewards for Indian cricket

Players cannot decide when to leave, however great they may be. It is the job of the selectors. It is the selectors who slected the player thinking that he would be useful to the team. Hence it is the selector who decides to drop a player if he is no more useful to the team. This applies to a Raina or a Rohit , a Sachin or a Sehwag. None of them are greater than the game and the interests of the national team. Simple as that. Like Vengsarkar many in India tend to be sentimental. Often these sentiments hold us back.

had you played those finals, by getting wild card entry?

or directly got a birth to play?

is it possible to play final without winning semi, quarter and group matches?

grow up mani, otherwise sooner or later you will be bronze mani.

Silkstalks,so if India Won semifinal or Quarter Final then they should be declared Winners because as per ur logic Our Greatest Match Winner has Final phobia.

And about last 8 Overseas Tests. He is far better than your boss Dhoni and others except Dravid. You asked his last 8 Overseas tests. I would like to know, Take the entire overseas tests played by dhoni and tell me how its looks like? isn't he is a great to play in Playing Eleven without a single century?

Dude I am not dhoni Fan.But if So called Greatest or GOD or Master Blaster is being compared to the likes of Dhoni or Dravid or if Sachins performance is being judged by fellow team mates performance, then u really have to think about his so Called Greatness.

Well nobody will deny that he is was and is great ,but if he gives room for an youngster then in two years he will be groomed ,if not after two years if sachin deceides to retire then there will be a void which will take some time to fill.
