To all sachin bashers here are the plain stats out of his 50 centuries India has won 24 times, drawn 14 times & lost just 12 times now consider his 50 plus scores in low scoring tests, then on many occassions when the tests have been drawn & sachin has scored 100 or 50 scores most of the time its because of his scores. And ever since Sachin has started palying India has maximum of 45-50 tests and his participation(read centuries) is in 24 tests so this proves that not all his centuries have been wasted.

on the verge of history:
by anshul kumar on Dec 29, 2010 09:24 PM

now that team india has levelled the series, the most important thing on every indian fan's mind will be a series victory.for if india wins a series here,it'll go down as one of the most historical moments in indian cricket dat'll be remembered for years to come.but if men in blue fail to deliver in the last test,it'll once again be left as an unconquered territory and a failed campaign....its time now that india go all out with confidence under a remarkable captain to create history.all d best team india.......

Bowler Aggression Done it
by CS KRISHNAN on Dec 29, 2010 09:10 PM  | Hide replies

Had not Sreesanth Argued with Smith things could have in the host way. Smith pays the price so called sledging in the field. India is now using sledging part greatly without getting hanky panky which is good for India in which Aussies are master of it now we are.

Zaheer was also looking busy, after each ball he bowled, talking to batsman... especially after 5th wicket of SA...

Kudos

Kudos to Indian team for super performance in Durban test. But Indians should not go easy in the final test, SA will come back hard again.

Indians should work on their batting because even in this Durban test, India just managed to get just over 200 in both innings. It was magnificent bowling performance which made India winning this test match. Where is Shaun Pollock who said "I can't see this Indian bowling attack taking 20 wickets."

The Sachin bashing was expected
by Sudarshan S on Dec 29, 2010 09:09 PM  | Hide replies

As expected the reactions are knee jerk from a lot of the posters here. Just one thing i want to mention, How many of you really saw the Sachins 100 against pakistan at chennai. For sure yes we lost it. But a knowledgable person about cricket having watched that inings on a 5th day pitch against Akram and Saqlain, wud never have any doubts about the talent of sachin. Really how many of you watched that innings? I will have to dig up my archived posts about the beauty of that inings. i too cried after that loss. My respectt for sachin grew when he did not come to collect the man of the match. Winning and lossing is not everything, I m afraid not veryv knowledgable posters here.
There is no doubt about Sachin's talent though. What is debatable is his ability to handle pressure during crunch situations in the last 6-7 years when he has better batsmen around him than he had in the 90's when he was surrounded by a team of losers. People having watched the old sachin of the 90's feel free to debate this.

I don't think there is any debate. There is no comparison between players. Where was laxman in 1st test. Didnt we need him then? I can name tons of flaws in laxman if i focus on, inability to play ODI's, inability to heavily score in 1st innings(like sachin), poor running between wickets, slow outfield fielder & so on. All i am saying is ppl have to be mental midget to be comparing sachin with neone.

exactly mate. the quality of the posters on this board is appaling and typical knee jerk guys. i am sure a lot of them just look at only the scoreboard without having seen the game live. fo eg the scoreboard shows Pujara made only 10 but will these guys know how much class he had while at the crease and how confidently he was handling the SA Pacers in only his 2nd test.
I want to say same about Ganguly during his last year. The manner in which he was getting out and the struggles he had during his short stay at the crease were clear suggestions that his end was near. if people had seen his last 10-15 innings, the scrtaching around and his struggles were visible. Sachin is no way near that and has still got a lot to offer.

Where was VVS Laxman in 1st test
by Free Free on Dec 29, 2010 09:09 PM  | Hide replies

Didn't we need him then? He's a great player but for god sake stop comparing him with sachin. If sachin doesnt perform & india loses or if sachin performs & india still loses doesn't mean its Sachin's fault. Entire India is plagued with short memory & has forgotten the pressure & responsibility the man has taken for 20yrs. Not until dravid & ganguly started being the pillar for the team, the man used to be single handedly performing for entire nation. Entire 90's & even early 2k's if Sachin would get out ppl used to turn the TV off. The very simple memory jolt would be Test against pakistan where he got out & the rest of the team could not even make 17runs to win the test. So stop comparing Sachin with Laxman. He's a brilliant player but Sachin has given a lot of memories & victories for india than neone else. Sachin raised the bar in 2003 world cup & got us in the final & it was the bowlers who screwed up. So stop calling his runs inconsequential or 'he only scores on flat tracks' coz Laxman's 281 was also on a indian flat track against Australia

22 test centuries on foreign pitches, does that figure look smaller for you. Some great batsmen u know might hv not scored so many even after playing 100 tests.
You are quoting as if his feat can be done by any one.. quote some one who is on par with him (present or past), without any excuses.

Do u mean that whoever scores on Indian pitches are not worth any credit... Pointing is a big failure 'what could be the reason'?

Dont belittle Sachin Tendulkar's contribution to Indian victories! Go and check how many Man-of-the-Match awards Sachin has won and you will realize that India won over 95% of those games! And for a long time he played in an Indian team which had none of the greats like Saurav, Rahul, Kumble or Laxman as they all made their debuts later than him! Just google any worthwile cricket site! Sachin is pure genius!

His time is over, means ur time has started to go out of this forum.hahaha. Gracefully...do u know the meaning of this word...just in the 1st test he proved his mettle nd then only the so called other greats srated believing that a century or some good runs can be scored against steyn nd morkel in their own backyard....he always starts the confidence going....remember the world cup when he lost his father, but he came back and opened the acount of tons in thet world cup.
