Point is that VVS normally would not play the NOTHING_TO_LOSE innings like GOD_OF_CRICKET played in the first test.

Mr.Powderwala.

We cant ask why who did not perform? SA in SA is THE STRONGGEST team with wonderful bat-bowl-fld. It is not a childs play.

I thin you divert the attention, and correct the course.

WELL DONE INDIAN. EVEN SMITH ACCEPTED THIS.

A GOOD CAPTAIN, A GOOD TEAM, ZAHEERBHAI SET THE TREND.

GOD JOB. DISREGARD MR.POWDERWALA.

Pravin bhai i respect VVS laxman but my point is if a player play well and we are unable to win the match did that mean player is useless then why other 10 dint perform?? Also a player dint play & team wins then should he be hated to this level??

I do not know which score board you followed in 1st match, in first innings except Sachin and Dhoni every one else failed. In 2nd Innings laxman did not do well. Dhoni scored 90 and was the main reason Tendullkar could score his century. When you are so called the best batsmen in the world and most senior member in team, you need to apply your self. Take a look at the way Pujara or Vijay were ready to grind it out.
Also Just an FYI ... in last 10n years when India has won abroad Tendulkar has got MOM only twice and out of that one is in Dhaka.

Either you don't know cricket or you are fool.
Turning point in this match more than one occation but the wicket of Kalish was really a turning point.
Congratulation Dravid for taking his 200 catch but that was not the turning point since at that time South Africa was aleardy on backfoot and any way Dale Stane as a batsman never looked in this match that he is taking away the match by his batting.

Just like sachns 100 was useless in the 1st innings Laxmans innings would have been useless if bowers had not restricted SA for 131.

This is a team effort. Don't praise anybody too much and blame some body.In the mean time india has to inject some new bloods like Vijay, Pujara,Badri etc to replace Dravid, Lakshman & Raina who is not suitable for tests.

Please make your fact correct before commenting.
Vijay is a frontfoot player and on fast and seaming condition he does not know how to play sort pitch delivery. He needs to work on his foorwork and handle sortpitch delivery.
Raina needs to work on how to handle sort pitch delivery otherwise he has exceptional talent.
Badri is now out of scene.
Pujara looks really a class player in test cricket so he will be there.
It seems you are tamilian and you don't know other player in country who are playing cricket.

Lakshman will play at least 4 years in test cricket he is a class act and plays in crisis situation not once but many time. Please don't comment like mad.
Dravid is also one of great player not only in India but in World. He will only decide when he needs to retire.

This is the best batting side. I feel inclusion of Aswin will surely add power to bowling. Sachin as always ..great ..but need to fire in crisis, Dhoni - ur best , Vijay- u need to play test like T20

Agrre with you about Ashwin but Vijay is totally a front foot player he needs to work on his backfoot otherwise in bouncy pitches he will like he failed in this test.
But in south African condition India can not afford to have 2 spinners.

Test Cricket vs Nonsense Twenty-Twenty
by vimalesh singh on Dec 29, 2010 07:59 PM

Watching Indian Team performance in this match showed that one should never judge a Team's batting performance untill and unless second team bat on the same track. I have seen comments on this forum like "Indian Team is going to be thrashed be SA this time also by a bigger margin" when they were bpowled out on 205 in the first innings.
But even then I said just wait for the performance of SA batters on this track and then judge Indian batters.
The thing is that we are so used to watching batters score 200 & 250 on a PLACID dead tracks (like MOTERA, Ahmadabad) now a days that we don't know what is a LIVELY track is ALL ABOUT & what kind of exitment this kind of track can bring (Kudos to SA groundsman)?? This track showed that even a good fighting 40 is like a 100 or 125 on dead & Placid track.
Indian batters showed that they are more equipped and experienced to cope up with the lethal bounce and lateral movement of the track compared to SA batters. The pitch was like a GRAVEYARD of batters and experiance Indian batters showed that how to make runs on the same track and in the end 205 and 228 was more the good enough for SA batters. Even the likes of Kallis was out on an unplayable delivery today.
Thats why I like Test cricket and its beauty coz it TEST YOUR SKILL LEVEL not sixer hitting abilities (Suresh Raina Should read this).

DON'T KILL TEST CRICKET BY BOWLERS GRAVEYARD PITCHES !
