Dravid willnot make the indian team to get a big performance. as like ganguly no one should take indian team to right manner.as a captain ganguly had a tremendous records . he only make the indian team to go final in the last world cup.noother former indain captains never had 56%of winning.i thnk dravid will give this much of percentage.
I do not think that Dravid is the right choice over Ganguly to lead India in the long run as he is too mild a person. He may fit in as a stop gap arrangement but it would be better to bring back Ganguly as he commands respect more in the mould of Mike Brearley. In the past it was Ganguly who showed the way for India's exploits and this aspect must be remembered for the 2007 World Cup.

Yes Dravid is the right choice for Captaincy under the prevailing conditions. Saurav has lost not only his form as a batsman but leadership skill as well. Dravid will be a better Captain and he should be allowed to stay until the World Cup and the results will come. He as well as Greg Chappell should be given a fair chance to look at the Players performane and drop x, y, z as and when necessary without interferring in their working by influential people.
The subject " IS Dravid the right choice ?" itself is wrong. The subject should be " Dravid IS the right choice". There is no question or doubt as to whether there is any senior player in Team India who can raise to Dravid's stature (of course Sachin exempted. ) Ganguly has done a good job, and it would be for Dravid to take the team to a higher level.
Yes, it is a right choice that dravid has been named captain. for it will provide a chance to this senior man to prove his abilities and also give Ganguly a mental rest. This is the time ganguly should feel free, look upto playing his natural game, without bothering about other responsibilities, and get back to his good old days.
Dravid is not a ultimate choice for a long run . But now Saurav ganguly is not fit enough to lead the team . Team india should find a new one (E.g. Smith/SA) to be focussed as captain .
