India is loosing its eminent luminors one by one and Joshiji is the latest. A legend in music truly devoted and lived for it to flourish. His soul has left him on a very bright day - BAHULA PANCHAMI - on this day the GREAT SAINT SRI THIYAGARAJA ONE OF THE TRINITIES OF CARNATIC MUSIC attained Moksha in the bank of Cauvery. As Sri Thiyagaraja's songs are being played even after three centuries, let Joshiji be also remembered for years to come and let his music tradition be carried through by his disciples and followers. Let us stop cheap comparing. Everyone are unique in their field of achievement where they have attained fullest satisfaction.
With Panditji passing away an era started decades ago has ended....he was one of the last of the doyens of the hindustani classical music.....may his soul rest in piece and his music be inpire and enjoyed by the next thousand generations...
Mile sur mera tumhara to sur bane hamara. Will never forget these words sung in the old doordarshan days. I think we had better national integration then.
A jewel in India's crown, you will always be remembered with respect.
Hope that there will not be controversies in his name, for statues and birthplace and all. It would be better to just institute an award in his name and close the matter.
