The compositions of Purandara Dasa rendered by him will ever linger. In an Amol Palekhar directed movie, 'Ankahee (1986)', he sang two numbers one of which brought him the National Award. He was one artiste who made people forget all narrow differences like caste, religion, language and reminded us of the oneness of our great heritage.

I still remember the Mile Sur Mera program and watch on youtube at times, it's speechless and timeless.India has lost a giant of Indian classical music.
