UIID is excatly there to address people like rag pickers ,,migrant Labourers across india
By using UIID card he can avail his rations ,,before only a Panchayat office with a clerrk and recording on a ledger book is the norm hence people are forced to goto that Panchayat building in certain hours
Now with UIID system,,hours becomes flexible ,,so does the location ,,too
So defintely it will help a rag picker u just made up something first clear your head
The mind set of these marathi ghatees is very negative and they find faults with each person and thing. Now they have become enemies of Nandan Nilekani!!! Is he also encouraging mass migration (another of the ghatee concoction). Let's see who is the next enemy of marathi-ghatees in this long line of enemies: South Indians, North Indians, Nandan Nilekani .... Stay tuned for the list of ghatee enemies, it keeps getting enlarged every year. In my opinion, we Indians should adopt a consensus and kick ghatees out of India, and declare that day as a day of national celebrations! India deserves freedom from these low-IQ morons..

no need to remind that point But defintely attacking Nandan subverting constitution is immoral and unethical there are lots of issues RTI act Lokpal Bill(Anti corruption laws) etc Plz concentrate on those issues UIID is a noble deed by a noble person Nandan is a very good man ,,not political like most people so stop this rhetoric and do us a favour stop this smear writeups on UIID

UIID will help people at the grassroots to access Govt rations For example : say a labourer in Bihars village takes rations while in Bihar ,,if he moves to New Delhi for a construction site work as a labourer on daily wages ,,he can get his rations in New Delhi
2.Poeple who sell rations of govt in Black market will be eliminated
3.Planning commission can know how many people are accessing rations and target the programm effectively
4.By giving Bank account on a UIID based card ,,more poor can avail Banking services
While it's obvious that the National Intelligence Grid will be using our UID, and various government departments will use them to track us, data collection is absolutely necessary to review and see how far the programs being implemented by the government are successful, where are the chances for fraud. Why not use the UID to track the tax offenders?
UID is necessary for social development, although the government will use it for law enforcement purposes as well.

Housing project: Dispur today announced that it would push for 15 to 20 per cent reservation in residential flats for people belonging to the underprivileged and other sections belonging to the below poverty line (BPL) category.

sir I think Gopal is right because we already have 15 Identities now We could develope some of 15 identity to biometric or something else now for what we need another identity for more corruption and mental harassment of government officials ?

The present president was involved in bank scam and CVC in corruption charges and the elected representatives and ministers talk against CAG the constitutional office. UID is going to give each Indian a proof that he is an Indian.Now what proof is there with us? It can prevent corruption putting up our rights and reduce crime.After UID comes to effect every money transaction can be linked to that.So black money can be wiped out.Why america and europe is less corrupt not because there people are very honest but there al thay have this UID through which every citizen is monitered by the govt.Now each citizen has a chance to be noticed more by the Govt.Dont see only the bad side of everything,

I am not at all surprised at the question posed by Rosemary: Who is this idiot Gopal?..I too do not know the answer. Infact I read the full article before finding out who wrote it. Does it really matter? Or is it the contents of the letter, the logic and reasoning, the powerful argument, the analysis. A person like me likes to do my own analysis. Couple it with your experience and thereby emerges your wisdom.
I for one admire Gopal and to be brief agree with each of his arguments. Remember, who is ruling? A Gandhi(MKG), a Nazi (Hitler?), Italian (Mussoloni, another Gandhi?). The fears expressed by Gopal are genuine and there should be a full debate before the project is taken up. Somehow or the other, we look to be fond of taking up hugely expensive projects. What was Commonwealth Games? An inventor wanted to develop a technology to separate white of an egg from the yellow one. He needed money. He convinced the merits of his invention and extracted lots of money from an old, rich lady. This happened in U>K> Eventually the inventor tricked the lady and disappeared. He was later caught and tried in a court. The judge asked him only one question: Is it really necessary to separate white from yellow of an egg? The moral of the story is clear. Again, remember the Italian mother-son duo ruling us today. My apologies to Nilkeni. He is a near-genius, but it is he who should ponder over Gopal's arguments for abandoning UID project.
