BANDHAS, HARTELS etc
by A.K. borpujari on Aug 15, 2010 09:35 PM

surprise to see the present situation in North eastern strates. Everyday there is a Bandh either in the state, taluka, Highways or in a village for 1 hour to 700 hours.
We are ruining our own scope of development, instead of Bandh we should forward our long term isolated demand to the Centre and get rid of the situation.
Need to be think that the mandays are lost, people daily earner man of appetite are the worst sufferer in the situation.
Yes we also want price rise to be objected, salary to b4e hiked as per rate of countrys development, but with the way of noble means not by bandhs.

the opposite of pro-gress is con-gress !!!
by binal shah on Jul 26, 2010 11:44 PM

the word 'con' itself means -ve ism / disadvantages
just a bunch of conmen, conning me & u the people of india, since last bloody 60 years
let us all understand below

right from winning indian elections to maharashtra state elections. congress exodus of 60,000 crore tax payer money sops for farmers loan repayments a year earlier, paid off well in india elections. state people lost 5000 crore in biz when raj thackeray struck, but congress did not do anything. why ??? all for power @ a small cheap entertainment investment price of Rs.5000 crore that through people's nose, it payed, played with raj & lost with us, which it is enjoying today for the next 5 years.

In mumbai it seems so they kept they already had their election commissioner in their pocket, who kept the india voting date where next 3 days were continuous holidays, so that some of us can take a break from stressful corporate typa work & getaway from the city, while poor get misjudged & misvote in favor of wrong parties.

since last 1-2 years esp, congress marketing strategy of power & money is so strong that without indulging much in illegal activities they make sure that they dont leave any option of positive results swinging out of their way & go straight into their pocket. congress strategy to win is simple, they will perform only in 1st & last year of ruling. in between 3 years they will make a mess & it has

The bandh has become as the reply of the Finance minister is stubborn and to express the displeasure of people on the price rise. The MPs and Govt servants can copeup with the price rise by some means. How about the common man? The coalition and their agents prosper at the suffering of the common man.The congress & Co is no better than East India co.

Causarhina:

Good questions. And you are right if you don't vote for them (which you don't do anyway).

Interesting point however is, based on the same logic, what are you gonna do about the year worth of actions of Kangress to Loot people, keep them unfed, and keeping the aam aadmi deprived? Are you still gonna vote for Kangress in the next election?
If yes, then it isn't surprising what you wrote above.

Bharat Bandh mein Bharat loses
by sangeeta mehta on Jul 07, 2010 08:56 PM  | Hide replies

Don't we love to shirk responsibility?
I see a lot of proponents of shirking work to support a cause. let us put a thought to what it costs us:
India's GDP: USD 1.16 Trillion (1,160,000,000)
In rupee terms: @46 bucks per dollar: INR 53,360,000,000
Per day @240 Working days per year: INR 221,410,788
considering we lost even 50% of the productivity, we lost in this single Bandh: INR 110,705,394

Tell the BJP and Shiv Sena to pay up this money, else we lose

And to think that less than 50% of the intelligentsia who choose to support the Bandh are actually prepared to vote and take responsibility for the fate they are cursing

If you abdicate your right to vote, oh Intelligent honorable people, you leave it in the hands of people who buy it for blankets and cheap liquor

You deserve the rut you are in: Don't make it worse by striking work...

Did you calculate it right?
why did you divide gdp by number of days?
divide by number of hours and remove 12 hours of bandh..
yuor loss will come 50% lesss..

But keep one thing in mind this childish calculation is not realistic, because the hardwork was just postponed by a day and the moment next business day came in, almost all losses were made up...
remaining losses can be easily made up untill the next financial year closure ar 31st March 2011.
So this calculation is unacceptable and childish and misleading and rubbish at least....

Fred:

:) You are now trying to split hairs...

Tell me is the purchasing power of aam aadmi better or worse off today, as compared to 2004?
Also figure out what percentage of the total aam aadmis in this country earned more than $2 a day earlier, and do so now.

That's the litmus test.. Not what percentage of tax here, what number of employees there, who was heading the water tribunal on the 23rd of December, or who sat to the left of the then Prime Minister in his third flight after the elections...

'Did the govt leave us a choice?'
by sailor on Jul 07, 2010 11:32 AM

I am not a supporter of any bundhs. But this time it was very essential because of the callous Government attitude towards the record breaking price rise, whereby all sections of the population are adversely effected. Better a bundh than a civil riot.

bandh
by Lakshmanan Kalimedukaliannagoun on Jul 07, 2010 10:04 AM

While the maximum age the mind is supposed to be alert is 65 when supreme court judges retire. But the minds of the politicians start working only after that age so it is for all antisocial work -corruption, fraud, murder the opposition, and for all that.

Give way for the young in your own party. Let them draw projects for all areas more for the suppressed and neglected areas.

These politicians have developed efficient bands of Naxals ,maoists. They are brilliant boys, a heavy loss indeed to India . The first generation boys were suppressed from getting higher education, jobs they are worth.Nearly one fourth of North east India is in their hands. It is not too late to build up a united harmonious Bharat.

Tamilnadu lost Andhra area because it neglected that region; now A ndhra neglected telegana area and it is a matter of time Telegana state come into. Much so state of maoist India in another decade if these patriotic seniors do not leave the scene.
.It is in the hands of the voters to eliminate these politicians. Come out and vote otherwise
Ind

Politicians raised armies of Naxals, Moaists by their corruption, favourtism. More of the rebels are well educated, much more than our politicians, smart, skilled. They learn armoury much quicker than our armymen because the flame is in their heart for they are rejected by the society(politicians).
ly efficient in administration , draw programmes for all regions, more particularly for the neglec

dosent make a differance
by sg sg on Jul 07, 2010 09:56 AM  | Hide replies

i dont think the bandh and the price rise is making any difference to the aam admi, as if it would have it could have thrown out the government a long time ago. when the same threw out one only onion price rise, then whats stopping them now. either the inflation and price rise is not effecting them much, or the fall in job vacancies are a positive factor. but most of all the people dont see a vialble alternative in the sloppy bjp who cant even keep their own house in order.

Good on you. Since you have already formed the verdict in your mind (like most all the other political parties - keep the BJP away at all costs, never mind why) you definitely deserve the government of the day.
