Opposition - a Party of Fools
by Jennifer Tilly on Jul 06, 2010 12:40 AM  | Hide replies

The BJP and the Left or Right Parties whoever they are have once again succeeded in convincing the nation that they have no brains and so are the people who were paid to support the bandh and the violence. Boasting of a common man’s support to the strike by threatening the common man from going to work and earning his daily wages and destroying the property shows absolute hypocrisy of the opposition parties. They have proved that they are good only at hooliganism. They have tried all possible means to come to power by opposing the Congress at every step and thus expose their weakness at all times. Congress has alone stood as a single sensible party. The rise in price of oil is global and not restricted only to India. There have been fuel price hikes in other countries as well and it has been accepted by the mature population. BJP is a dying party and so are the Shiv Sainiks and others. They know it and are trying to pick up any topic to show their might against the Congress. By claiming that the UPA is arrogant, they are indirectly praising the Congress for its wisdom and talent in running the country. BJP, Shiv Sena and others have thrived on the votes of the uneducated, ignorant, introvert, so called religious and backward thinking population of India by misleading them but not for long. It is just a matter of time when this population will see their hypocrisy, repent and vote for stability of the country.

Just another r-i-c-e-b-a-g convert xtian glorifying her co-religionists party due to her own shamelessly biased nature..

Yes, Indians are fools for being blind to s0nia's repulsive agenda of robbing, corrupting and degrading the nation on all fronts..

One piece of advice Jennifer.. get out of India and go back to your Italy and try to dictate politics there..

Tilly:

You absolutely, truly and really deserve such a government as is ruling at the moment.

In fact you should be thrilled to buy Dal at less than $3 a kilo and petrol at less than $2 a litre.

I pray to God that you should get a individual rate card of Dal at maybe $20 a kilo and Petrol at $35 a litre as this fantastic government of yours steps towards absolute greatness. But kindly don't include others in your quest for "claim for fame". Not everyone earns thousands of dollars a month like you do.

And finally, it is Kangress who has thrived on the votes of the uneducated, ignorant, religious and backward thinking population of India for almost continuous 60 years; and thanks for bringing it to the attention of the forum. It was really too generous of you to admit your shortcomings so freely. But guess what? You don't HAVE to remain ignorant anymore. Its your choice though. :)

"By claiming that the UPA is arrogant, they are indirectly praising the Congress for its wisdom and talent in running the country"

Dear Jennifer in which world are you and whom are you fooling. Perhaps yourself. Have we got a person called Prime Minister in our country. Is he capable or allowed to take any decisions?

I personally dont support any political party for that matter because all are equally bad and corrupt to the core. My point is please stop rubbing salt deeper into our wounds. No party thinks about common man. He is just left to fend for himself. His duty is go and cast his vote faithfully every 5 years or earlier if needed and then pay his taxes honestly to keep these safe and well-fed and live in full luxury.

Price Rise
by prasanna kannan on Jul 06, 2010 12:36 AM

I think the deregulation of the petrol prices is the right way forward. But our PM got the timing completely wrong. The UPA was a sitting duck. This should have been done when the oil price was selling at $35 a barrel last year and any deregulation would have been absorbed by the oil companies with a marginal price increase. At that time UPA was busy increasing pay for Judges, central government staff creating a hole in public finances. Now when the world is recovering and demand is increasing the oil is selling at 3 times the last year rate. It would be difficult for any working class man to absorb the cost.

The FM is citing the reason of fiscal defecit reduction behind the deregulation. Actually we should have found savings from pay freeze, costly affairs, budget reduction to states poorly managed. I am astonished that when developed economies are having pay cuts in public jobs, we in India expecially MPs, judges, civil servants are enjoying 50% to 125% pay increase... Hail socialist system.

Price rise
by Tapash Dasgupta on Jul 06, 2010 12:05 AM  | Hide replies

It is of no use to call bandh by which only the poor people are sufferer. It is also right price rise is an issue where again the poor people are sufferer. But bandh is not the solution specially any oppostion parts convene it for their myopic interest. India has now a great image in International arena. Let it not be contaminated by selfish politicians. Let us try to go forward not backward by sorting out the solution and that must be done by the common people.

Dasgupta:

I will be most interested in hearing the solution you have formulated so quickly.

How do you buy Dal at $3 a kilo? Is there some kind of currency machine you have installed at your house?

Boss, kindly share your wisdom and the solution to price rise with all of us. Don't be so selfish as to think only about yourself.

Give other options.
1. Govt. Does not consult opposition.
2. Govt does not listent to opposition in the parliament.

So what is the answer. Who and where would the voices be heard.
Its a problem created by the government to itself.
Now that they have lost their langots, they are crying hoarse.
