dosent make a differance
by sg sg on Jul 07, 2010 09:56 AM  | Hide replies

i dont think the bandh and the price rise is making any difference to the aam admi, as if it would have it could have thrown out the government a long time ago. when the same threw out one only onion price rise, then whats stopping them now. either the inflation and price rise is not effecting them much, or the fall in job vacancies are a positive factor. but most of all the people dont see a vialble alternative in the sloppy bjp who cant even keep their own house in order.

SG SG:

Good on you. Since you have already formed the verdict in your mind (like most all the other political parties - keep the BJP away at all costs, never mind why) you definitely deserve the government of the day.

BANDH
by sharmila naik on Jul 06, 2010 04:47 PM  | Hide replies

Instead of BANDH we should bring down the govt. on this issue so that next time no govt. will have the guts to increase price.

Price Hike ???????
by agnivesh on Jul 06, 2010 03:45 PM

We have been talking about economical issues in 2008-09 which was handled nicely by this govt. as some one was saying in his post... but this economical problem was never in our country . this something this govt. has made an attempt to hide its failure in every field. They have Ipl to work on , they have Bomb locations to visit in different costumes, they have all non productive things to do but work.and when some one asks questions regarding this problem they dont even have answers for it . if a govt. cant sabalize prices that must be thrown out of the power right there.. no questions asked... but we also have that mind set ..why should i take a step to change this... some one will come from nowhere and help us ... people this not just price hike its a pure harassment of our work and dedications... we cant even eat good because we first have to feed our leaders as they are more hungry and helpless ...

Bharat Bandh
by rgk on Jul 06, 2010 12:18 PM  | Hide replies

Bharat Bandh has forged the unity among various political parties on issues which was very esssential for a democracy to function. The UPA Govt. headed by eminent economist Mr. Manmohan Singh failed to realise the pain and anguish his economic policies have caused to the common man (including middle and higher middle class). Day in day out the prices of foodgrains and groceries are rising without rhyme or reason. Ministers and MPs and MLAs are not affected by the price rise because they gfet compensated by various allowances. It is my humble request to the UPA Govt. to introspect and find out why they have fallen from grace of common man when they were re-elected with the hope of good governance. Prime Minister should ask its Govt. Machinery to carry out door to door survey of common man to understand their plight. Now there is quite often talk of power tariff increase, milk price price increase which may eventually fall on comman man. With so much of tax and duties collection, infrastructure has not improved a little bit. We still have slums, choked nullahs, dirty environment, bad roads which cause 50% loss of petrol due to traffic snarl. Why can't we emulate China or Singapore which have risen from ashes. UPA Govt. must think of cascading effect of price rise in petroleum products on all other products of mass consumption. Why the Govt. does not implement dedicated channel for public transport, talk of which is going on for many years to save on petrol and diese

Bharat Bandh : What did it achieve?
by Stud on Jul 06, 2010 11:14 AM

This is a reply to those nincompoops who have been asking these questions:

-Bharat Bandh has achieved an important thing called UNITED OPPOSITION, Price Rise is not only affecting Hindus, but also everybody else in the country.

SO BHARAT BANDH HAS ENSURED THAT OPPOSITION WILL NOT BE DIVIDED ON THE COMMUNAL/SECULAR ISSUE.

-BJP/Left raised the issue of price rise in the Winter Assembly and the Budget Assembly of the Parliament what happened:

Winter Assembly : Congress leaked the Liberhan Report and broke the opposition unity.

Budget Session : Congress all of a sudden introduced the WOMEN'S RESERVATION BILL, which again divided the opposition.

Budget Session : People are forgetting that CUT MOTIONS were introduced specifically on the Price Rise issue, more especially on the proposed Petrol / Diesel Price Hike.

Again here Congress used the CBI pistol to divide the opposition.

In view of above this BHARAT BANDH has achieved a significant success :

In the upcoming Monsoon Assembly the UNITED OPPOSITION will ensure that Congress is put on the mat on following issues :

-Price Rise
-Petrol Hike / de regulation
-Bhopal Gas Disaster
-Continuing Maoists strikes
-26/11 farce and Pakistan's expected turn around on the issue.

Congress even if it wants cannot divide the opposition on COMMUNAL / SECULAR lines any more.

More especially, since Bharat Bandh is fresh in people's mind, Congress cannot introduce any other bill when Price rise is being discussed.

Bravo BJP/Left.

adamant and arrogant congress
by brian crasto on Jul 06, 2010 08:18 AM

Its a sad part that having won the election a senond time in a row the govt has definitely become adamant and arrogant. Pranab Mukherjee who is the finance minister said that the will not roll back the prices for fuel. Can the finance minister exceed his brief. Actually Murli deora the petroleum minister should have said something. They say absolute power corrupts everthing. I have been paying professional tax and now everyone who is drawing a salary below Rs15000 will come under ESIC which is practically defunctant. The govt has been fooling the general public. Though the band is not going to bring down the inflation but definitely dent the prospects of the ruling party in the next election. Its not the oppositon party was successful in implementing it but it was the common man who supported the band whole heartedly. Jai Hind
