What a dumb and sick guy u are.. It makes laugh and at the same time angers me to know that there are people with such hatred!! Why blame Aussies for racism when u an Indian can't look eye to eye with your own Indian brothers from the south. For your info it was North Indian and not a southie who was attacked. i am sorry to say of it but need to make a person like you understand that we are all Indians!
Amitabh deserves to get the doctorate and it may not be so easy for someone to get such a kind of recognition.
He is simply showing his protest by the way of not accepting the same. Why to get agitated?
Some (in)humans here in this forum are trying to create an issue here stating that why he is not objecting to local issues of people beating up the people of other states. Does he had to show his concern in everything and everyother nonsense that happens here?
Re: why object

At least this will make the prospective students aware of the perils of going to Australia for studies.
Melbourne, May 30 (ANI): The recent attacks on Indian students in Melbourne could severely hit Australia's lucrative education industry, agents in India who help arrange student placements have warned.
The assaults attracted a blaze of publicity in India for the third consecutive day yesterday, prompting some students and parents to re-evaluate plans to study in Australia.
Bubbly Johar, who runs Johar's Education Centre, an education consultancy in New Delhi, said many parents of students considering education in Australia had contacted him because they are worried about safety.
"These attacks will definitely have an impact on the market because parents are calling me up and they are very concerned," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Johar, who is vice-president of the Association of Australian Education Representatives in India, as saying.
"The media coverage here is encouraging parents to rethink whether they should send their children to Australia for studies. We can't assure them that they will be safe - it's a very precarious situation for us," Johar added.
Taxpayer-funded advertising in India that promotes Australian education services has been undermined by days of negative publicity

Three English-language newspapers - Hindustan Times, The Times Of India and The Hindu - ran stories about recent student attacks on their front pages yesterday.
Education is Australia's third-largest export earner behind coal and iron ore. The number of Indians studying in Australia has more than doubled since 2006 to 93,000. It is estimated this group contributed about two billion dollars to the economy last financial year.
But Arun Bhutani from AB Educational Avenues agency, which arranges for more than 1000 students a year to study in Australia, is bracing for a slump in demand.
Rupesh Duggal from Cambridge Immigration and Education Services in Punjab said: "There is a growing perception that people in Australia don't like students from India and this is affecting our business."
A team of Victorian police and fire brigade officers will arrive in India tomorrow to brief students bound for Australia on staying safe. (ANI)

raj arora, don't presume that every one is working in call centres!!! That post is reserved for dim-wits like you. I work in real "brick and mortar" industry.
Hi friends is there is any way I can drop down my Indain citizenship as Bachan did for doctorate. Because I am ashamed to be a Indian on seeing the support by Indian government on ruthless killing of tamil in Lanka.

One of our most daring and successful prime minister (Indiraji) was killed by her own security guard. But her daughter in law and grand childrens are sympathetic to that community and made that community person (2nd time) as Prime minister of India. Shame on you!! to make ill logical comparisions.

They did not make Dr. Manmohan Singh PM for charity. They know very well that he does not have any Political ambitions and also do not enjoy mass support. He did not contest event the recently conducted Lok Sabha Poll. He is nominated to the Rajya Sabha. He tried to get elected in 1999 from Delhi but after that defeat he never contested any election.
They want some one to keep the seat warm till dimwit Pappu Rahul is ready to take over the mantle. That's all.
Mrs. Indira Gandhi paid the price for creating a monster called Bhindranwale as a counter for Shiromani Akali Dal.

Tamils have been oppressed by racist Sinhalese and so deserve Eelam, just like we Jews rightfully got Israel after Holocaust. LTTE 's methods of suicide bombing and recruitment of child soldiers are wrong but their cause is right .

Senthil I feel happy to read ur msg. Iam also embarrased to say Iam an Indian, when India supported the genocide of innocent civilians In Srilanka. (According to "London Times" 30,000 civilians were massacared by Srilankan army in one week, then calculate how many lakhs of civilians were killed by the Srilankan army in the last few months)
India is a coward keeping silent without raising a protest against this major war crime occuring within miles from Indian shores!
When India cant even protest agst a small country which is massacaring its citizens, how will the western country accept India as a regional super power or even respect India..?

I really like it not accepting honorary from such crap people who call themself developed nation and doing such inhuman acts actually we Indians are far above Australian in decency and economy. But we cannot say Australians cause they are not actual Australians they are also migrants from other places but they came there very long back with pulpy brains...

People from Andhra and Tamilnadu are creating problem, i will say mainly South Indians, in US people hate them, in Australia we are seeing what is happening, in UK. These people stare at white girls, their men don't like, talk in own language, try to push local people by fraudulent means to make money, too much greed, they don't spare even fellow Indians, problem is population in India, Young generation should avoid to have more than 1 child, it is becoming tougher and tougher to lead lives. I have sympathy with other fellow Indians but please South Indian friends don't be so greedy, try to follow system, in US also you are cheating others, you open companies, keep fellow indians as slaves, everything you speak is lie, people cry for 12 years for green card, you keep them like animals, file their GC's in wrong categories, whether someone cries, request or curse it doesn't hit deaf ears of south Indians at all. I am just worried what impression we are creating for India, also if someone tells you things honestly you start fighting.

i agree with you specially mallus dont have control wen they see gals they keep staring at them not even small kids they spare
My comment on the issue was deleted though it was based on facts. I see trash is being allowed here but logical and reasonable thing are not allowed. This is the reason we are backwards. We cannot face truth though our mouth says "yada yada hi dharmasya glaniorbhabati bharata" but in action we believe in deceit. I think Amitabh has some shares in Rediff. Great people are those who can face criticism. Lowly people are those who run away from it.

Muhammed Rashid, you people convinently forget the role of Amar Singh and Abu Azmi in inflaming the passions in Maharashtra. What were they expecting when they ridiculed all Maharashtrians?
What Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has done is absolutely right. This will atleast make the prospective Students and their parents understand the perils awaiting them in Australia and will make them think twice before enroling in any Australian educational institution.
