Aussie universities will go to dogs if Indians stop going there....half of the foreign students there are from India.....that is exactly why even the PM of Australia commented on this issue....they have everything to lose, Indians ahve a lot of alternatives.

Secondly, Australia has no Industrial backbone to speak of. It is a services based ecomony. Their education system is a big source of revenue and employment.
Aussies have a lot to loose if we Indians don't go there.

I applaud the magnanimity and nationalism in Big B for this laudable step. As a private individual he has chosen to protest against the assaults of hapless students from his own country. This is in striking contrast to the absolute apathy demonstrated by the Congress led Indian government.When Haneef was only accused of links with terror, the MMS led Congress government went overboard to protect him. Contrast the response now- when students of Indian origin belongong to the majority community are being attacked tot he point of being injured enough to be admitted to an ICU for the past week, MMS is strangely absolutely silent and apathetic. Barring Sujata Singh's customary visit to the injured students, no other official step has ever been taken till date. Indians deserve this treatment from the Aussies for re-electing the Congress. Jai ho!!!

bhai mere.. there is a basic difference between the case of Haneef and current attacks.. In case of Haneef, the australian government had filed a case against him terming him as a terrorist.. one can understand the difference between official case by a country's government and the cases of attacks by individual teenager groups.
Secondly, you did see Sujata Singh's visit.. but could not see the summoned OZ ambassedor by Indian Government.. summon to a country's ambasssador and recording protest is considered the highest step in bilateral relations in two countrys.. if u r not aware of the fact.
PM MMS has already talked with OZ PM, MOFA SMKrishna has already discussed and expressed concerns over the issue to OZ Govt.. I believe you must have gone through these news..
& for two democratic countrys situated far away from each other.. r u expecting India to attack on OZ to take a revenge..??

We are not fools to think that a military attack is warranted for this, when nothing was done post 26/11. Anyway, the Indian government should have taked to Kevin Rudd reminding him that the Indian government was likely to advise future students regarding the abyssmal law and order situation in that country, and then make it clear that any imports from Australia was likely to be affected at the next stage. Australia does not sell uranium to India, so India is not likely to be affected is Australia loses some trade. Also Rudd can be remined that while racist comments are considered criminal in the EU and USA, Australia had better go back to the days of Rudd does not considering insituting similar laws.
what is Mr.India lover Brett Lee doing? .. if he loves india so much.. he should stand up and make a point as well...and practice what he preaches.. All come running for ipl cash.. why can't they do something to raise awareness?
Just because couple of teenage morons decided to attack Indians in Australia, suddenly the entire Australia is at fault. I have lived in Australia and most of the Australians are nothing like these morons. Just as all Indians are not to be blamed when few morons in India burnt Graham Staines and his kids in 1999.
I respect Mr. Bachchan a lot, instead of rejecting doctorate he should have taken this opportunity to go to Australia and increase awareness on these attacks. What a wasted opportunity.

well.. since nothing ever happened to u.. u should feel lucky.. its not just about physical assault.. facing racist comments and racial overtones every day is as damaging as physical assault and this happens on a much larger scale which is never reported and is almost like an australian's right and duty... which i have to mention doesn't happen in the US on a daily basis.. and there is more tolerance as people grow up in a mixed race environment.. unlike OZ and UK...

Please read the last sentence before commenting.
If somebody gives me a center stage to speak about issues. I would grab it and talk. His rejection will mean nothing in Australia but he could have used this to even have a press conference in Australia and helped increase further awareness.
And I am not going to even comment on stupid and baseless points mentioned above about being a convert or extremism or anything similar. I have lived in India, Australia and now in US and I want awareness of this in Australian media, rather than in India circles only. Mr. Bachchan could have easily done that. Like I said wasted opportunity. Battles are not won by name calling or rejections but actually doing the real work at ground level.

The difference is that some Right-Wing Extremists murdered Graham Stained and his family while in Australia the COMMON people are racist in nature and attack people on basis of colour . shame on you Shubham Pandey for making such a comment .
Aussie are trying to make themselves a country of independent culture and class. While the fact is they doesnt have any history.
what happened with some indians was bad, but my freind who is a aussie had similar expirence of attack and stealing money. I feel that attack on indian had ripple effect from this goons trying to make the most of it.
To the extent we cant blame the whole nation but officially it a stiff and a little egoist nation in making.
Indians are taught to turn in their other cheek . For decades Indians have been peddling 'ahimsa' , and the entire retinue of Gandhis . It is not only in Australia , but even in our backyard of South East Asia. Indians continue to get insulting treatment in places like Honkong and Singapore . It is time Indians learn to give it back in kind and worse.For Aussies get them whereever possible and kick their faces in . The white trash has had it good for a long time now .
Before we send our children to Australia for further studies or for any other reason, we must know and understand that Australia is inhabited by descendants’ of white criminals in UK who were exiled to Australia for all sorts of minor and major crimes. Leopards never change their spots, so also the descendants of those criminals. We must expect criminal behavior from them.
Let me tell my experience with Tamils. My mother tongue is not Hindi, though I can speak it fluently.
1. Got down at Central station in Chennai and harassed from the beginning. They asked me why I can not speak in tumil. I said I do not know and the TTE anyhow looted 200 rupees saying that I have overweight luggae.
2. Not a single road mark, bus mark is in Hindi.
3. Not a single central govt. office like Post Office, Railways, National Highways have mark in Hindi.
4. Once a railway ticket giver told me in Hindi that he can not speak Hindi.
5. If you speak in Hindi, anyway you will be harassed.
My heart goes to the old couple who came from Banars to visit Kanchipuram and Cape Camorin and could not speak tumil. they were harassed endlessly.

Hindi is not the national language as per the Constitution. so stop barking about tamils . Hindi is derived from Sanskrit and Urdu and is not as old as Tamil .

I am from Karnataka, and I can speak Kannada, Tamil , Hindi..and quite a few other languages like every Kannadiga can.
People like you stay in my city for 10 yr and still not know more than "Kannada gotthilla" - I dont know Kannada......Have some respect for every other language and culture in INdia.....you dont mind learning french, german but ashamed to learn an other Indian language espec if it is a south Indian language.....and you are all quick to comment on south Indians...
I can speak Hindi more fluently than any of you, I learnt even gujrathi, marathi when I lived in those states...but Hindites, punjabis are arrogant and disrespectful in general....many Tamilians have the same attitude, you are only seeing yourself in them. So stop commenting.

They even look down upon east-asians, Africans, Eass/North-East Indians, South Indians, West (I'm talking about Maharashtra) Indians.

Ok, I agree with you. Lets say, if I visit delhi, will I be able to see any hoarding other than Hindi (It may be a national language, but doesn't mean that everybody has to accept it). When our fellow hindi speaking people have low opinion about people who speak in other recognised language than hindi, then why should a state respect other languages. I have also faced the same problem, but I feel sorry because one of my tamil friend when he visited Delhi, he was virtually robbed, and all I could offer was sorry. So, my dear friend, its everywhere and everyone is promoting it knowingly or unknowingly. We have least respect for others opinion or personality.

I am not Tamil & I have no problems learning every other Indian language, I am proud of speaking atleast 7 Indian languages.....but how many of you make an effort to learn....go learn french, german and mock at other classical languages in India....

it is ur bloody problem if u cant speak Tamil.i am not a tamil myself. I have seen fat north indian ladies bark orders at shopkeepers in chennai in Hindi and shout why cant u speak in hindi when the poor fellow doesnt respond.U can call ur Hindi national or international language. we dont care a damn. if u want to survive in south learn our language or atleast speak decent english.Dont expect us to learn ur dirty language to make things easy for u. In the same way if we south indians ever have to work in north, we will learn hindi that time out of compulsion. if u cant read post office in english u dont deserve to be out of ur poverty stricken north. U have nothg in north and cum down south seekg opportunities and then start cribbing. In chennai, agencies that supply servants threaten rebellious girls that they will made to work in Hindi speakg homes as they are known for their inhuman ways. U northindians are the root cause of all the problems in the country, whether it is terrorism or communal riots or casteism or abuse of women. U r cruel, blood thirsty people. Right Guest. There is strong corelation with the number of crimes such as rapes, thefts, dacoities, murders etc. and the number of northies in a place. UP, Bihar, Delhi are places where the maxiumum number of such incidents happen. Northies will bring India and Indians into disrepute.
Amitabh Bachaan is a great actor of India and very good human being too.He does not need any doctorate or recognition from west to be recognized.
He lived a life of true hero in public life as well.
These bloody Universities try to eat money of Indian students and suck their blood upto the last limit. They do such acts in order to atract Indian students and we are seriously gullible, who gets trapped under their enticement.
They treat us like honey bee and kick after taking our whole money.
