Australians are racists no doubt ! But this is not such a big deal. There are more incidents on Indian students cuase there are more of us there than any other nationality.
My friend who is studying in Sydney just messaged me that everything is normal its just the Idian Media.

fighting among yourself will bring you no good when others are out there to harm you. first things first. internal matters shuould be dicussed and resolved separately. You r right in a way. but that does not mean that u remain silent and swear at ur own people when they need support against others
an australian can travel in the local train in mumbai at night without a problem.. but its a shame that inspite of being a so called first world developed country, there is no respect for human rights and dignity..
First of all we have no gaji's in India any more. Finally if you beleive Australia is best for you then you go there, we will speak after 40 years and count our money compare them with the presnt cost of that time.
Almost 80% of Indians live on less then required wages to be compared as middle class person there. Only few who have doctarate degree's live grace fully but still lower as compare to natives there.
$100K - Taxes - living expenses - food expenses - car expenses - Exepenses on childrens = $20k ( app ) and plus investment growth is less then 4 %. Which is equivalent to poverty Dear........

What an irrelevant point. I am an Indian living in India. If any one goes abroad legally to earn living then what is wrong in that. Can India provide employment to whole of its vast population. people will go where life takes them.

Lastly I am sure u will struggle to find a job worth $100k with this attitude. Hopefully u r not muslim or from pakistan then u may have to end up living as Taxi Cap driver...

Sure, If any body is qualified then sure it can provide but not to those who are going there for dollar charm. As getting job there is very difficult.

Get ur facts right. Everybody who is qualified will not get the jobs. Qualification for the respective jobs far outnumber the openings for those jobs

He may find a job. But not a successful and satisfactory life or career with this attitude.
indian team should wear black bands if there is an india-aus t20 match... i really wish this happens.. it will really send out a positive message esp to indians in australia..
its time to step up the issue and not tolerate even racial comments and sledges and just not be concerned when there is physical assault.. if things dont improve in future.. using our cricketing leverage as a protest should be considered.. it may not be cricketer's fault. but in the same way. its not the students fault either.. the govt of the country is responsible and should be held liable..
Mr. Bachchan might be offered many such doctorates in any given year. I doubt if he goes and collects all of them.
We have no way of knowing if his move is to show solidarity with Indians (which he has not done in crises worse than this one) or to avoid the embarassment of receiving the doctorate at a politically wrong time.

May be u r right. But the real issue is not that he has refused the award. 20 attacks on Indians in 30 days in australia. This is not at all acceptable.
Bilateral diplomacy yields no results. Our People's Govt should give a ultimatum to Australian Govt that if attack dont stop we will stop sending students there. cutting this educational ties will bring their ego right in place.

stop aussies from ipl just like we stopped pakistanis...as a last resort.. ipl will go on fine... there are enough players to run the show..
the problem is bigger than physical assault.. its about the continuous racial comments and overtones that are not reported and are as damaging as physical assault...which happens on a much bigger scale and nothing is done abt it.. and i can say does not happen in the US this way..even though both are developed first world countries..
I think Mr Bachchan's choice is correct. We have seen racist remarks in the cricket grouns as well in Aussie. The country has not advanced culturally and socially, since the "white australian policy" days. They require education on racial hate and its ill effects.
Amitabh Bachan needs to be congratulated for his stance. I think he has given a strong message to the Australians, unlike the veteran actor Dilip Kumar who accepted Nishan-e-Pakistan award in 1998 just before the Kargil war, and refused to return the honour.
