When the requirement is to create more opportunities government is indulging in rationing of it. This clearly signifies that government has no interest in creating more opportunities. When requirement of the day is to create more institutions of the repute of IITs and IIMs, government is not able to find resources for it. Who is to be blamed for it? When lakhs of competent students fail to get admission in technical courses because unavailability of seats and the rationing policy, won't they feel resentment towards the administration? The need of the hour is not 27% increase in seats at IITs and IIMs but 2700% increase in seats at these institutions. But I don't think government has either courage or vision to bring about such monumental reforms.
Politicians would be happy playing with the life and carrier of youngsters and seeking political mileage out of it.
