What happened in Nandigram is totally unacceptable.the government should have been more proactive in making people understand what is SEZ all about and give a proper time to the people to understand the need for economic upliftment of Bengal. The CM was lacking in this and his arrogant attitude is not acceptable he should get into the damage control fast. The opposition with their leader Ms Banerjee is all bunch of ex-thieves and criminals who got into politics because of their personal financial mileage in business.Inspite of eveything I still feel the majority of learned fraternity of Bengal understands that Buddhadeb is the only man who is fit to be CM of Bengal and he has the courage to stir bengal to its lost glory only thing he needs to be much more diplomatic and choose his team correctly.

The media and the intellectuals have to step up pressure and see that buddha resigns, let anyone else replace him from the left front or let bengal go in for a fresh round of elections.Buddha resignation will send across the message that No CM of any state can get away by grabbing land and later killing the right full land owners in cold blood.history will never pardon india if we let a person with Stalins, Hitlers, Saddams, Dweyer mindset to continue. In fact he should be treid for murder arrested immediately and put behind bars for getting poor helpless women raped, young children orpahned, young men maimed. His atrocities sounds very similar to what Hitler did aginst the Jews.

Buddha should resign or not
by Binay Biswas on Mar 19, 2007 04:38 PM  | Hide replies

Absolutely not. He is the savior of Bengal. If he is at fault for this recent tragedy, opposition has also the responsibility by not giving hands for development. They are the cause, if he is the effect. They should also give suggestion, meet hin obn discussion instead of opposition.Atleast, he is the only person who has positive vision. Mamta will sit idle if she comes on power, as any speed in development will bring the similar opposition to her. Thereby, we will be idle and stagnant for another 30 years--it can not be.

So, lets come a give a hand to CM INSTEAD of criticising him. Our intellectuals also should know that discussing on celluliod/table are quite different from facing scene. If so, let them come in politics or better do their job meticulously.

Well, opposition can only have discussions with him when he gets out of his ego and make the environment discussion friendly. In one hand you say,I want discussion or the other hand he wil say,I cann't stop work at singur(Without discussion he started the work at Singur). How can you expect such a person to develop a state? He can be the cause of only destruction, not development.

Dear Mr Bannerjee
A CM who lies left and right should resign for just that reson only. When Mr Binoy Kongar thretened to make the life of people in Nandigram "Hell" this useless CM did not react. It was well anticipated what Mr Binoy Kongar wanted. Our CM said in TV channel that "There would be no policing in Nandigram" and after that ordered the police to be the cause of so many deaths. He is the greatest shame of our state.

Nandigram and Buddhadev resignation
by Praloy Majumder on Mar 19, 2007 04:37 PM  | Hide replies

Whatever happened in Nandigram is deplorable. As a head of state , the CM has owned up the entire responsibility. Bengal has been trying to become one of the leading industrial states of the country. But some vested interested people do not want common people to take this economic benefit. The so called intellectuals are afraid of their own existence in this changing socio economic condition where people would not spend time for their act. Visit any industrialised state, see the common people. We the bengali people are proud of our intellectual prowess and now we are no where in the national scene. Theses intellectuals are no other than normal human being. These people never tried to improve the condition of common people. Now they have come to save the common people! West Bengal needs industrialisation and the present CM is the right person. What I would suggest that the ruling left front should resign and go for a fresh mandate where they will clearly mention that such and such acre of land would be acquried and the benefit is this. They should also mention that the consequence of not transforming the economy . Let the people decide what they want - darkness or bright sunshine. Let the common people decide their own benefit not these so called intellectuals who hardly worked for the common people.

Buddhadeb should continue. Bengal and Bengalees need industries and not sermon from intellectuals. Non of these intellectuals can provide a single job to an educated Bengalee. We need industries and indutrialization should continue at any cost.Ratan Tata has said time and again some vested interest are responsible for stalling its car project in Singur. CBI shoud inquire that too!

Well.Ratan tata doesn't have the guts(or maybe proper documents) to give allegations to his competitors.Giving allegations without documents was a habit of Budhdha Bhattacharya,it was not expected from ratan tata.
regarding Budhdha Bhattacharya, how many times he would let the court dispespect and harras him?During the book fair, the court directly said the the Govt was involved in providing fraud documents to the militery to get the permission to make the fair at maidan.BB said "I tried to save the bookfair".Well,so he admitted that he tried to make the fraud documents which was caught at the court.Once again in this nandigram issue CBI would make him exposed. He still has time to back up keeping his self respect.Otherwise we might court ordering somehting very serious for our HONEST CM.

Resignation is not Justice
by Vivek Jaiswal on Mar 19, 2007 04:36 PM  | Hide replies

Resignation is NOT Justice.

The cold blooded & pre-planned murder of poor farmers by the ruling communist party & terrorists in uniform needs to be punished.

A simple resignation is far too lenient a view.

These CRIMINALS and MURDERERS in the form of policemen, politicians & party workers who murdered over 100 farmers (not the 14 which is the 'official figure') need to be jailed for life. Their leaders hung.

Then only will justice be served.

If this is NOT done - we are then condoing the right to kill, loot, murder and take away all the wealth of India by a group of policemen and terrorists who happen to be in power.

Recognize that India in 2007 is effectively a dictatorship. Any form of dissent is met by political beating or killing in the hands of the police - with no redressal.

Think about it, my fellow countrymen.

We need hanging of the guilty.
Not a resignation.

If justice is not done now - these murders will be repeated.

Today it is Nandigram.

Tomorrow it might be YOU and YOUR family.

Think of it.

Yes Nandigram is deplorable but more deplorable are the acts of some idiot intellectuals! Can they provide job to any Benagalee youth? So why they want to stop Tata from this car project in Singur? For Bengal Ratan Tata, Anil Ambani are far better option than Medhapatekar and Mahashweata Devi. Both of them have enough money to live a decent life so it is not unexpected that they will talk of some absurd outdated philosophy which will bring only destruction to our state. Buddhadeb should continue as well as the industrialization

They might be fools and that is the reason they cannot do "Secret Trade" with the industrialists. However, they still have the spine and say the truth while ourr HONEST CM lost and sold his spine to the industrialists to say lies left and right.
