horrendous article

Mr Srinivasan,

Your article sounds terribly confusing as if you dont know who to blame for the plight of Indians in Malayasia. If generalising and taking out your grudge against every left supporter gives you satisfaction, then maybe you should research your facts when you write. Nobody condones killings in any form, or to any religion, but the fact remains that in the end there are always more killings to minorities, and if they are documented and condemned then the writer/protestor is not necessarily on a hindu-bashing spree. However if we refuse to use our intelligence and blindly justify every action against the muslims because they may have done the same to the hindus, we can continue on this violent cycle forever. Furthermore if you cant look at incidents objectively and why people say JNU-wallahs maybe protesting because it eludes your basic comprehension power, maybe you should stop writing articles at all. Or maybe you could let go of your religious bias, and find yourself to be more logical and less hate-spewing journalist.

The Indian dilemma
by Kasthuri on Mar 18, 2003 10:02 PM

Well said , Rajeev ! It is sad that the most vocal and visible elements of India are certainly not representative of its diversity or greatness. We have enough champions for minority issues. What We need are voices to speak for the common majority.

india should awake to its potential!

the article by Rajeev points out few very fundamental aspects of the Indian mindset which are not positive.

The Jainchand syndrome is one which definitely needs to be uprooted.I will site a small example , Yoga which is our ancient heritage should be one thing that the whole world should look up to .If the Chinese can teach the Karate why can we not teach the world Yoga. Essentially , we do not have faith in our principles or are afraid of the being laughed at .

We are the first to laugh at new ideas and are seeing the outcome of this mentality today. When the AMerican will teach and patent Yoga this will be clear to us.

Chinese hidden agenda - The Jaichand syndrome
by Ravi on Mar 18, 2003 09:46 PM  | Hide replies

R Srinivasan's article "The Jaichand Syndrome" has very well focused on the issue of ill treatment of IT professionals by Malaysian officials. The facts that were laid in support of the contentions made in the article is an eye opener. Never will an ordinary Indian think of ill-treatment in terms of the larger interest of Chinese hidden agenda. I hope that the people's representatives in New Delhi will take a note of that and take some strong measures, instead of fighting on petty issues and making regular walk outs.

It might be the mullahs. Or else it must be the Chinese. In other words, Rajeev Srinivasan doesn't have a clue about why the Malaysian incident happened, but doesn't let this stop him from inventing causes.

Since he mentions the preacher controversy, perhaps Mr.Srinivasan and his ilk could emlighten us on one fact: dozens of Hindu preachers travel to the US and Europe each year. Do they have some sort of preachers' permits, or do they travel on tourist visas? The answer is, of course, tourist visas, because preaching is nowhere considered an activity worthy of a separate visa. And Indian godmen make much more money on their trips abroad than Christian missionaries can hope to in visiting India.
