What makes this album a little superior is the comments some desperate fans of A R Rahman make in this comment section.
When it comes to A R Rahman, one should - a) Listen to the songs atleast 10 or 15 times (Jobless huh??!!!) b) Know he has won two Oscars and one Grammy before criticizing his work. c) Know that he has achieved "SO" much (LOL) d) And, put the blame on the director, lyricist, producer, singer, sound engineer or even the manufacturer of your music system.
No wonder why Rahman is so complacent and takes his success for granted.

Very nice analysis! Its really surprising how people withstand such unbearable noise in the name of music! ARR should go back to the basics and understand what it takes to create real music..India being the land of music, its not too difficult if he desires so. But I guess since he found the shortcut, trying out Hip-hop would be his next "experiment/contribution"!

I meant that the 'Quality of this album' is superior only to the 'Quality of comments made by Rahman fans'.
This acquired taste stuff about Rahman's music is pure bullcrap! I think its third degree torture and the audience finally give in to get away from the music as quickly as possible :-D
Rahman's music was cute for a while...no longer. The Oscar award that was given was a fluke...Gulzar who wrote the song, Sukhwinder who brilliantly sung it and Pokuttly who did a great job in mixing it deserved way more credit than Rahman. Have you heard his Common Wealth Song? Pathetic..the less said about his 'singing' talent, the better...the saving grace is his dashing looks(:-)Pritam is twice as good as our little man from Chennai.

V. true & v. well said!! No two ways about it. I still wonder how he ever got an oscar!! Probably they were giving it to the worst in each category rather than the best!! Same with the CWG song - what a crap!! Rahman singing in his sinus voice - there is no life or rhythm to it!! We can't have one decent song for the games??
Its like ARRehman has lost his magical touch. his music is no more as good as it used to be. raavan then robot somehow these movies have no story line just huge budget and big stars affiliated. I will definitely not remeber arrehman for raavan and robot.

Dude!! forget every movie. which was the last Rahman movie in which you liked the songs after listening for the first time. don't give me crap about starting to like them once you listen to them for twice thrice

if a song of the caliber of pagal anukan and arima arima are not good and his vtv omana pene are not good then idont know what is good... shame on guys who are commenting on this musical yogi... God save our country from this hypocrites
He is an extremely over-rated music director of the century in the entire world. His music is generally a blatant copy of remote foreign albums incl 'dil hai chhota sa' from Roja. What if got oscar for his music? That does not mean he is a great musician. His music is just a mediocre one with a flash in pan here and there. Our very own Bollywood composers who are accused of plagiarism are far better ones and they have the guts to acknowledge it.

Go first and learn about music then give your stupid comments. You are comparing Sachin Tendulkar with Jadega.

what i could infer from all the comments so far is that we have a bunch full of morons waiting to criticise someone successful, you are not india friend but india enemy
Back to 1990's....came the first whisky effects. slowly to steadily and awesome. Hear CWG song for 5 times and you will start praising...same case for Robot as well.......I bet you.!
According to me thr would have been lot of discussion between cwg team and rahman for mood of the song. In return rahman would have offered a few tunes. who selects from cwg is the culprit for the mess.
however rahman should have understood the fact tht being a sport event the song should have more energy and it should take people to dance floors....like the cup of life of ricky...

Rahman was directly awarded this 5 crore free gift by Congress for giving Jai Ho for 2009 elections.
There should had been a free and fair competion among music directors to present their theme song and the best should had been selected.
It was really sick to see Delhi CM Sheila Dixit dancing so pathetically happy over this miserable theme song.
