raja sen is right as always.

abhishek is a non-actor and non star. only parents and ash propped him up. but a dead horse will stay dead no matter how much u flog it !!

All critics and audience alike have panned ravan while ravannan with vikram is far superior due to vikrams correct portrayal of the central character. abishek needs acting lessons real bad

Maniratnam - The most overhyped director of century
by Apoorva on Jun 20, 2010 09:15 AM  | Hide replies

The hype around maniratnam seems unbelievable. The director knows nothing about direction. His last film Guru was pathetic and this one is even more pathetic. Use of excessive technology and distractions like - rain, mud, sound, etc. cleary shows the inconfidence of director - because he doesnt have anything to present and is only trying to distract the lack of content with these things.

probably apoorva could direct a world class movie next year!!!

all the negative reviews only show our lack of taste for good cinema...indian audience are not yet ready for films like this...its a pity!

Atlast Raja Sen I agree with you for once..
by amdabessst on Jun 20, 2010 09:10 AM  | Hide replies

For once Raja Sen,you have written a proper review. Yes Aishwarya was tolerable as long as she had her lips zipped..the moment she opened her mouth, it was a torture. Vikram had no role to play..Abhishek should seriously plan on quitting the profession. You have to have the zeal and love for the work you do. He looks like have ventured to acting coz he is good for nothing else. All said, Ravan is a waste of money and effort.

the movie had brilliant locations ... brilliant tracks and background scoring by a r rahman .. and it dint have much of a story... but it was shot superbly and is a very very good movie .
its a movie for people who have a taste ... nt fools like raja sen who would like housefull or race better than watching actual superb film making.

mani ratnam and a r rahman - respect.

It has been since Dil Se when fools like you have been supporting the now over hyped entity, Mani Ratnam. You must revisit mouna ragam, nayakan to see what we expect from him.
Raja is just right today

by xyz on Jun 20, 2010 07:54 AM

Finally after so many years Raja Sen has got the review of a movie right.

The movie is boring and almost has not story in the first half.....the story in the second half is predictable and somewhat beyond logic

by Senthil palani on Jun 20, 2010 06:17 AM

I just feel like seeing a drama. All overacting...Vikrams and Ash is not tolerable. Got to theater with some buds....Pritiviraj tried to give some natural acting...
I like cenematography. Its something unique...You can watch the movie only for that...

by Arvind on Jun 20, 2010 05:42 AM  | Hide replies

It is a good movie for one who has good taste. Mani is good as usual. But the movie may perform like dil se.... some liking it a lot, some hating it. But, believe me guys, it is a very good movie.
