India media is sold out to SRK, that is why even a gr8 movie like Ravaan is being shown in the Media as if its all bad, Abhishek Bachchan has defied acting and shown the world he is the son of the greatest actor ever, no King Kong can ever take his position, Raja Sen should be given a big kick on his back, that is why none of my messages r getting registered, the scenes of the film r remarkable.

Life is all grey, the grey hues of life and that of the grey matter between our ears. Yet we are made to and we believe in black and white, good and evil. Here comes a movie with scintillating imagery, absolute classy imagery blended music challenging this very belief of whats good and what evil, whats ram and what ravan. And in its own very subtle way forcing us to think. Great acting and even greater direction. Food for thought..and spiced beautifully with sound that bites.

frankly you are misguided both about movies and real world.
movie is about drama and entertainment.
for "life is all grey" then watch the real world unfold. why goto movies at all?
the movie has to grip the viewer. no ifs or buts.
the "black and white" is necessary because rooting for a character is the primary way to get audience sucked into the movie.
the "grey areas" leaves no one to root for. you are just a bored neutral.
your point about grey areas is only true to a certain limit.
just as the movie exagerrates that the white characters have no flaws, ppl like you exagerrate that there is no difference between people as there is no one "perfec t".
but reality is there are people who tend towards the white spectrum whereas the more evil and mean people tend towards the dark spectrum strongly.
so you cannot say there is no black-white divide either.

you seem to have run out of the stuff between your ears to claim that the movie is classy with superb acting!!! and great direction!!!. Your post is the only thing I find more ridicules than the caper masquerading as movie.

I could'nt agree more with Raja. The movie is mind-numbingly boring and over the top. Abhishek is a mess and makes me forget the good roles he did in Yuva and Guru. this one takes him back to his Refugee days. Bad, Vikram hardly gets to do much. An honest review. Really liked it.

NYT is not the gold standard. It is center-left and pursues its own agenda. Hasn't it gone bust already! And why take a foreign newspaper's recommendation for an Indian movie.
