OP Nayyar - the legend
by Dave Nitin on Jan 29, 2007 11:14 AM

It is a great loss not only to film industry but to entire india because music directors like OPNayyar are born once in thousand years. He was a class in himself. He always provided originality to the audiences. He was on top when lata was also on top but he never borrowed lata's voice. His tunning with Mohf. Rafi and Asha Bhosle was amazing. India will never have music director like Nayyar saab. May God give his sould peace.

O P Nayyar

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing away of O.P.Nayyar. I have regarded him as one of the finest composers in the indian film industry.

I'm saddened also, to read completely inaccurate reporting on the Rediff website. O.P. Nayyar did not compose Jumka Gira Re which was composed by Madan Mohan nor did he 'attempt' a come back with Andaz apna apna which had music composed by Tushar Bhatia.

OP Nayyar gave us fantastic master pieces starting from Preetam Aan Milo all the way to songs from Zid.

He was not actively composing in the last years of his life but I will still miss him immensely.

about celebration or mourning
by prabha singh on Jan 29, 2007 10:51 AM  | Hide replies

I surprised that most of the news channel is giving priority more to shilpa shetty rather than OP Nayyar who have higher contribution to bollywood. It is shameful that shilpa got more publicity and over emphasis than nayyar. please think again.

I absolutely agree to your opinion, coz I was looking for atleast 1 chnl which would broadcst some special show on OPji,but to my great disapptmt,no one bothered to look into the past,& such an unnecessary publicity to ABhishek-Ash's wedding dresses & shilpa's success. That was really disheartning!!

Demise of Rhythem King
by sadhana dudhagaonkar on Jan 29, 2007 10:47 AM

My hearty homage to the Rhythem King-Very true in the word-OPN.I had a best friendship with him since 1985.He was a simple man with his feet on earth. The only composer with his pecular rhythem in music made all his songs immortal. He will be in the hearts of all of us through his typical Nayyar style songs.

The information in your article is very wrong.Madan Mohan has composed music of film Mera saya and Tushar Bhatia has composed film Andaz apna apna songs.

O.P.Nayyar - the great music director
by Ravi Chandran Krishnamoorthy on Jan 29, 2007 10:31 AM

O.P.Nayyarji was one of the most renowned music composers of yesteryears. His death has shaken me at a personal level. Although I have not met him personally, but I am an ardent fan of his music. Nayyarji showed what Rafiji, Ashaji were to the entire world. Two giants Nayyarji and Rafiji unfortunately are not with us today.

May God give peace to their soul.

Although Nayyarji is no more with us, but still his music is immortal and will remain with us forever.

What if OP Nayyar is no more. His presence will always be there in the form of his melodious songs. May the departed soul rest in peace. He was undoubtedly one of the best music directors Bollywood has ever witnessed. Aap ke hasin rukh pe... remains my favourite.
