(4)Woh Haseen Dard De Do Jise Main
(5)Chain Se Humko Kabhi Aapne Jeene Na Diya

Salute to OP Nayyar

This is not true that OP Nayyar is known for not making a song with Lata. This is misleading from Rediff. I always liked OPs music from my childhood and never knew this issue. Hence, I do not agree this.
But in fact, he was only known for his super melodic rythm based musics. And he should be applaused for being not using Lata for a hit as he felt his composition is not a match for Lata's voice. He rather used Asha for this. And truly, we should appreciate his compositions and we surely feel his composition was never suitable for Lata.
And of course, we have lost a great coposer.

It'll be wrong to say that OP Nayyar saab is no more. People like him live through their work. God Bless his soul!

It's quite sad to know that your team has attributed "Jhumka Gira..." to OP Nayyar when the track of "Mera Saya" was composed by Madan Mohan.

OP Nayyar - The magician
by Dave Nitin on Jan 29, 2007 11:55 AM

It is very sad that Nayyar saab is no more. But his songs will always remain and rememberred in the hearts of millions of Indians. He was like magician. His music was foot tapping. He could achieve the top position without borrowing lata's golden voice. It is indeed a great loss to the music world and film industry

I pay my tribute to O.P.Nayyar. His melodies will remain for ever with us. However in DD and also in your column you have credited "Zumkha Gira re" of Mera Saya to O.P.Nayyar which is actuly composed by Late Madan Mohan. - Pankaj S.Gosar

Yes It's correct. Zumkha Gira re is from Mera saya and the music is by Madan Mohan.
BTW is there any another song which has the phrase "Zumkha" composed by Nayyar Saab?

OPN - Greatest EverRythm King.... King of Heart and Soul.
by sandeep vinerkar on Jan 29, 2007 11:23 AM

Loss of Rythm King O.P.Nayyarji, one of most renowned music composers of yesteryears, who has gifted us with most memorable classical songs alongwith Ashaji & Rafi Sahab has deeply saddened me.

His memories will always remain with us in his evergreen melodies.

.... may his soul rest in peace!

Sandeep Vinerkar

May God give peace to their soul.

Although Nayyarji is no more with us, but still his music is immortal and will remain with us forever.

K.Ravichandran
