Tina Khanna - Reviewer or Bias or Dumb or No idea
by True Teller on Jun 30, 2006 05:38 AM

This movie is not fictional. It still did not go deep into cruelity done in reality to press the truth in all ways. If true religion, there is no need of secret, made up stories. Please read true history, Ms. Tina or don't give review.

No need to ban the movie
by Harish on Jun 02, 2006 07:22 PM

Whats all this fuss being made about banning the Da Vinci code? What if Jesus did marry? After all, there have been rumours of his biography missing some 9 years of his life, when he is known to have visited the himalayas, and learn the ancient Hindu methods of yoga. He is also known to have visited the Nalanda and Takshila universities which are centres of Hindu learning. With techniques learnt from here, Jesus(or anyone for that matter), could hold his breath for any length of time, and come back again to full life. This is how he survived the crucifixion. Even today there are many sages, who are capable of stopping their heartbeat for a period of time, and still come out of that state unaffected. So there are chances this may be true.
People shouldnt just stick to a philosophy, just because they have been hammered into their brain since childhood. Have a broad mind. Those who dont want to see the movie, just sit at home. There are millions who would like to see it, let them do.

Tina can\'t make up her mind
by Mangesh Kulkarni on May 27, 2006 01:20 AM

Once Tina (author if this article) says \'Da Vinci Code\' is a fiction, then she expects dates, locations, historical notes to be accurate. If that\'s what you want, read a history book. This is a novel, and it keeps readers engaged and makes them think. I have a lot of Christian friends who said they were made to think and do more research. Maybe the church does not want that.

Ye all Critics! Dan Brown and Sony are mocking you
by Hiten Thakkar on May 26, 2006 10:30 PM

To all the critics and literary buffs:
If the novel is mediocre and shoddy writing and too ugly to read you need to examine your life and job. Dan Bown, Sony Pictures and Random House are laughing in your face and to the BANK. Notice that the novel has already 3 formats: hard cover, soft back and illustrations, two audio formats and a movie debut of world-wide of $224 million in three days. In Future DVD sales and rentals to come to add to the $$$$$.
CRITICS NEVER MADE ARTISTES THEMSELVES.

Hypocrites - All humans

Greetings fellow boarders
Have anyone of you heard of the film \"Body\" which revolves around the premise of Christianity again? I would assume only a handful of us!The movie staring Antonio Banderas must have gone un-noticed because it did not market itself well.
All in all every one has a right to his/her own views so I respect every thought and emotion expressed here. But then in the same vain all religious sentiments must be given a good ear. We have seen the world being biased and I see that a hue and cry seems to be raised only when the religion most of the Western world beleives in is being laid under scrutiny.Someone on the board said that \'we have no right to create our own story\', Bible is a story book, so is the Gita, the Quran, the Granth Saheb and others. Books that talks about a way of life. As long as they are taken in that sense the whole world would be fine and freedom of expression as represented by Dan\'s book and Ron\'s film would just open up avenues that were not given a thought to before.Extermists are the ones that are going to end the world and not \'false prophets\'.BTW loved reading the book that sheds a new light into etched beliefs.

I agree with Tina...

...that the writing is GROSSLY MEDIOCRE and that the author made a lot of blunders in his interpretation of symbols and architecture in the story. Well, I'm not an expert on symbolism, but I have been doing my own research on Dan Brown's questionable interpretations, and realized that this novel is after all pulp-fiction, made famous only for what it suggests regarding the very nature of Christ as we know Him.

Being a Christian, I was first angered by Mr. Brown's blasphemous theology. But whatever his motivations, (I think he's a mercenary), he cannot change who Christ is. The theory of 'Sacred Feminine' has been around for quite a while now and so we can't even credit Mr. Brown for creative imagination.

On the whole, I think this movie should motivate Christians to re-examine their faith in Christ. They should be strengthened in their relationship with Him knowing how easy it is to drift away from the truth if they're not careful.

*** If you have any issues with the term "GROSSLY MEDIOCRE" --- Honey, I read a book per week on average and I've read fiction & non-fiction by hundreds of authors. I think I can fairly judge the style of writing when I read a book.
