i think as grown ups everyone has a rt to express and by mere fictional book n movie if the Church thinks its gonna confuse its believers then i'd say their faith is too weak. And, if they have a rt to express and talk about what their beliefs are, so do some other people who might not belive in it so much.

Its high time we stop creating such a fuss over everything.

Indian believers neednt feel unduly worked up by the release of the movie Da Vinci Code. Our culture always has taught us to take things, both pleasant and unpleasant in their strides. Again, opinions of people cannot be stifled or resented to. The main spirit is maintaining an attitude of open mindedness and ability to accept comments both critical and appreciative. It is the fundamental privilege of every individual to form one's own conclusion and opinion on matters.
Christians neednt feel their faith shaky as a result of such movies being released. One's steadfast faith cannot be threatened as a result of such influences. After all, Hinduism also has long suffered abuses and criticism of derogatory nature down the ages and remains unchallenged even now. The best attitude can be maintained as the Dalai Lama once remarked 'Believe only what one feels is right.' Those were the wise words of Gautama Buddha.

hi there,
its not christians making fuss, its jesus who they are talking about,u dont know who jesus is,so everyone can talk, read the bible and the seriousness,as christians are serious for the love of christ,if they were not serious, there would be blood shed, its christianity teaches to bear sufferings, and the power of jesus is ,he healed the sick, dead brought to life, and demons ran away in the name of jesus ,he is truly the son of god.i wonder why jesus ?he always taught to forgive ,and not to hate ,the bitter enemy.its completely wrong to potray the lord jesus,as when the world will end he will come with his angels ,than people can see,who is jesus and his power, all iwant to say brother, dont take christianity lightly as it is the source of love, for jesus said i am the way ,truth and life.

I have read the book and found it interesting and unputdownable. Everything in it just cannot be true and as it comes under the category of fiction, I dont see what the fuss is all about. Didnt we accept M F Hussain's atrocities in his drawings of Hindu Goddesses? Didnt the world accept other books, paintings articles and the like?Everyone has a reight to speak or write or draw whatever he or she wants. The world can object but it cannot ban.

Banning of a film
by KISHOR DHAMORIKAR on May 18, 2006 12:47 PM  | Hide replies

It is only a publicity stunt. After few days, the film will be shown everywhere without any opposition even from the strongheads. It may even become a flop on the box office, after people realise the futility of all this scene. It is a wonder that the so called religious minded people keep quiet (and do not even register a protest) when the Hindu gods & deities are made fun of in Hindi films. Also, the right of expression of a thought is at stake when bans are imposed on such films. It should be left to the public at large whether they accept or reject the contents of the film. No film can change the basic attitudes of the people which are created over a period of centuries. They are very difficult to change and a film like this can hardly change the mindset of the world.
