Mediocre article
by emperor on May 19, 2006 02:58 AM

The article is BAD. The author never justifies her statements.
The author mentions the book being mentioned as fiction but somehow forgets to mention that on the first page of the DaVinci code before prolouge, Dan Brown mentions the book as fiction but based on historical facts.
The author of the article talks about"there are mistakes ranging from poor research on subjects like Albinism, to errors about facts, historical dates and locations, metric mix-ups, errors with reference to art and literature, blunders about ancient languages, fictitious organisations and more. "---- but never says what they are!!!

When writing an article one must use common sense and justify their stance else the article sounds, and looks "mediocre".

Absolute Nonsense

Iv read the book , and i have also read so many of the so called classics.. Dan Brown is definitely a class writer with the ability to write gripping novels. Ms. Tinu seems to be more jealous than factual

Who appointed you as the critic?

Does this Tina Khanna has even read this book or tried to research about this controversy or just getting a job at rediff gives her the claim of being the authority on this subject?
The millions of people around the world who read the book and loved it are fans of pulp fiction and this Tina whatever her surname is a master. Now I can't believe this..

What does this Tina Khanna know about Dan Brown's novel?
If she says it is mediocre, there are thousands who say its great!
The 'mediocre' book did not become a best seller without a reason.
She and others who oppose need to shed the inhibitions and prejudices before speaking their mind.

Mr. Sameer ...Have you read the book?
I have read it and its a blasphemy....
No one is saying its a great book...the only reason its a bestseller is because of the controversy..anything which is controversial ought to catch public attention ..i would say the author thought a lot to create intentional controversy..its a sheer NONSENSE....and I am very sure the film is going to be a FLOP and the producer is going to lose lots of money

Why do we behave like kids? Why people dont learn their lessons from our past? India is called a Third world country we need to make it a First world country. We have plenty of time sitting their on our arse fighting for something silly as a movie story. They say it hurts sentiments of people Hindu fights Muslims & if no one fights with Christians they fight with themselves. When will we start using our brains & start making our own decisions? When will people try to work for the betterment of our country? Most of the guys who protest dont even have clue what they are fighting for or for whom we are fighting for? Lets face it guys protest, strikes for something silly as this is only done by people who have plenty of time on their hands. People who dont really have anything else in life to achieve. They just want to keep themselves busy & dont know how to use their spare time. Wake up guys enough is enough keep humanity & peace in your country your first religion & not some fucking bullshit like this. I am not saying this because am Hindu but am saying this because am Indian before am Hindu. Be an Indian Be Proud of being one.

For Tina Khanna
by Prasad GR on May 18, 2006 01:55 PM  | Hide replies

Hi! Tina,

When you write an article, please make sure to use, "I feel" because what you say is purely your interpretation of the novel/film.

Hence, when your article, which is nothing less than fictional thoughts... has to be read in good spirits.. we can very well read the novel, which "I Feel" was much above standards, and also watch the movie.

Cheers to the mighty PEN!!!

Rgds/Prasad.

Just a passing thought - what about the ban on conversions in India? Do you think that bans such as these are justified? Is it really the ban on the movie that you all are argueing about or is it Christianity that some people are against? I see comments from people who dont even know who the Lord Jesus is. Such comments show their insensitivity to the issue and not their support for the freedom of speech. I wonder if they would like to see a movie about their religion even if its written by one of their own people. Just think about it. As for me, I would say - those of you who want to watch the movie, please go ahead and patronize it. For all you know, its some Christian writer & film maker who are raking in the moolah ;)
