One can never assume that people would have seen godfather. Also why do you review the movie with a total godfather perspective. Try to look at it as an indian movie and from one's perspective who has doesn't know what godfather is. I was upset by this review. The only possiblity is that the reviewer should be some kind of RGV's enemy.
Lets analyze this situation .you have many people against your reviewer. But, I would like to add that it is the case of all reviewers in the bollywood media so I would not specifically blame Raja Sen. Eventually, there will be revolt by the general masses against such bias reviews. Most people will eventually make their own decision about the quality of the film and they are.
There is a clear personal vendetta when you read these reviews. I love Shah Rukh so we dont have to focus on the fact that the writer likes Shah Rukh. Yes, there is a tendency for him to garner praise for an average peace of work like Paheli and not something amazing like Sarkar, but that does not mean that Shah Rukh is bad. Both Amitabh and Shah Rukh are fabulous actors. Lets not take away from their talent or experience. Lets not compare the two to prove a case in point. What is clearly indicated is that reviews give out the whole content of the movie forgetting that the reader is wanting to see the movie. Please, do not give out the whole story. Also reflect on the quality of cinema from cinematography, direction, pace, theme, the climax, etc. A review does not have to be long, but resourc
its perfect by this that ramu giving chance to new commers is best,as its came clear that his talent is over with previous movies and copying the same from his old talent.
I vehemently disagree with this review. It seems that Mr.Sen has clear biases for this movie.
What kind of critcism is this: "fails to be a remake." If you want to see Godfather please do so. This is not it. Its merely inspired by it.
I was delighted with the overall plot. And I thoroughly disagree with Mr. Sen's comments on the style of the movie. The background score, the closeup of the actors, the use of silence are all directorial triumph's. A wise director these are the techniques to use with good actors.
The the most obvious thing you have missed Mr. Sen is the heavy dose of reality in every frame. Nothing is hollywood clean, smooth and picture perfect. And it only enhances the impact of the movie.
Besides the box office collections, the movie represnts an important milestone in Indian cinema. Enough said.
too g8 ! BIG B is back sorry he was never out. Some criticts write him off but he always proves everyone wrong. Big b and jr B both r amazing well directed by ramu. editing i felt was a bit sloppy. background music too much repeated. but overall Big B steals the show.
let me be honest on this after reading this review all I can say is that the stuffs u have written is crap hard to say that urn article is being published by reify I used to take my time our to read articles on reify and then judge on the movies but I was wrong any ways guys reify sucks big time coos they tend to publicize articles which are truly false thats all I can say
I watched the movie yesterday...and after the first half an hour or so i decided "Ok, i will throw out the thought this is the Godfather and watch it as a whole different movie..." and that did it...the movie was brilliant...I mean i had thought at times can't hindi movie step out of the mindless romance and tear jerkers...and it seems my prayers were answered...there were so many occassions where ramu could have gone overboard with 'ISHTYLE' as the movies nowadays are turning out to be...but it was very well under control...i thought the character 'Rashid' was intense as well....in short all i have to say is mr.Sen i dun agree with you...in fact i think right opposite to what you think....To each his own i guess....
hello i have not seen the movie, but what my friends told is "you can not miss the BB"evvery one told the same .but don't know in which frame your writer saw and wrote the review, please avoide fooling people, every one has there wone taste that is how film will be decided, not by your blabla........................
sarkar is this years most well acted film after Black. Its an awsome effort once again by big - B which has proved that he was and is the only superstar of Hindi Film Industry. Rediff review is totally biased against the film, director and both the bachchans. Background score is exactly fitting. Film has the potential of repeat audience !
