These fools in the jury never seem to know that there are other film industries in India that make better films all the time :( Why are Bengali or Malayalam or Tamil films never or very very rarely sent? Why do we talk abt Indian unity if art in another Indian language is not acknowledged as much as Hindi? Aren\'t we all Indians just speaking different languages?
Paheli, a non-sense excuse of a movie for Oscar! If a Hindi film is what they wanted to send they should have selected Swadesh or looked at other languages better!
It's an unusual movie but average.Good acting though. Humans & ghosts can't make babies.Oh,sorry, it's supposed to be a fairytale(or a ghosttale?)..Whatever!!!
I am glad I watched Paheli, it is in fact, one of the best movies I have seen in recent times. It felt really nice watching this movie, thanks to its wonderful story telling and wholesomeness usually missing in most new movies. No item numbers, no miniskirts, no crazy amount of fights or blood, sensual music...what more could I ask for. For all those who think this movie is not good, here is a advice, try understanding & registering a movie and not just watching it. And please get some GOOD taste.
I think I agree with most of the things that you say here and it is strange how both of us could connect to the idea of the fairytale so easily. I shall catch you on Lj :)
King kha sucks at anything else than urban cool guy with Mr. Nice attitude.He should not dabble with such good roles and should stick with his sobbing scripts.
