Oh my god!! I cant believe someone can actually write like that about Paheli. It is easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I am all for the colour and the sheer richness of the movie - but how long can that fascination last? There is absolutely no story, just lots of songs, overly romantic and ridiculous dialogues and great colour. I guess I have only myself to blame for trusting this mans review and going to the movie even after reading what he had to say about Sarkar!! Rediff, please do yourself a favour and stop this man from writing any more movie reviews. I love movies of all kinds - arty, masala, anything. And for all its claims of being different, Paheli is just total crap. It is a pathetic, lousy, awful, terrible, detestable film.It is completely illogical and senseless - even after leaving your brains behind.You have only 3 options when watching this movie: 1. Walk out as soon as you can 2. Go to sleep-just think you've paid for the AC in the theatre. 3. Go tear up the screen and spare yourself and those around you the agony of watching the movie. Guys, do not go to the film under any circumstances. You will spare yourself from a nightmare
After giving horrible reviews each time since last 10-12 months...why is RAJA SEN still employeed with rediff ?? or is it that you (rediff) make him write such reviews ???? whatever the case is... you guys are pulling your own leg...Any damn movie that this guy or Sukanya Verma have given bad reviews....have always been a hit...and any movie that they have praised... have sunk at box office.. if u like to write...then write essays for me...(will pay you for that) but please stop writing reviews... like this...
Once again it proved that rediff reviews suck - big time! Why in the world you guys give such a biased reviews all the time - something I don't understand! Paheli lacks everything - even though having so much talent at work making it! It's an outright insult to humans and ghosts as well! It lacks soul!!! It's intelectually insulting and emotionally dry! I had to watch one of Shah Rukh's earlier movies (which I have them in DVD) after watching this one, to restore my faith in him!
i have seen duvidha by mani kaul. it was a great experience - one of the best indian film i have encountered in my life. now i have seen paheli. must say that the burden of the previous film weighed heavily but kudos to palekar he has pulled it off. i cannot tell whether this movie will be a classic only time will tell but wow i had a fulfilling experiencem after a long long time. i don't care whether it will be a hit or dud. it is a BRILLIANT FILM and no one can take it away.
its a great movie. seeing paheli is a experience of going through audio-vedeo wonders. cinematography and set designing and art direction are superb. and the artists done well. its a very likable film.
This is one of the pathetically made movies in the recent past, with an abrupt ending & slow narration.
I am a fan of Sharukh khan and i have not seen a movie in theatre since 6months, still i could not bear the movie and 2.5 hrs were so long as if they were never ending.
I am not a so called "Class audience" / "Appreciating art types", i watch movies for total entertainment values keeping my logical brains aside. If a person in the audience has to think about what director meant and stuff like that i would never watch the movie and neither do millions of indian audience and thats the reason whey the so called "Critically acclaimed" movies bite the dust.
Me being a regular visitor of rediff for all sorts of information, i kindly request the reviewers to review the movie keeping this millions of indians who appreciate movies for fun rather than critically acclaimed movies.
Or other option would be to give two reviews one for Millions of indians who go to movies for 3 hrs of entertainment to forget all their problems and the other for thinking audience.
That would be a great help for millions of audience who would rely on rediff reviews.
Visuals are not the only thing we look for. There is no story line and it fails to hold the audiences. The song sequence as well as the songs are amongst the worst of all SRK movies.
hey guys, do u really think paheli is a good movie....well the sets and costumes made u color blind for a litle while but i still think its just an old story retold with our superstar...2 of any super star is a headache...!!!
