Good review. The author is not afraid of eulogizing the moviw just because it stars a popular actor 'Amir Khan'. He requires a pat on the back. True, a really bad film.
Who is this person who made this sad choice of being a critic???? He certainly does not know how to view good films. I am sure that this critic has absolutely no taste in cinema. In fact he must be some stupid Sharukh Khan(who i must add, is the worst actor on this planet) fan to write such rubbish about an astonishingly beautiful film. I think the critic has to know more about India and Indian history if he really wants to appreciate this film
I've read quite some reviews on this movie but this one really cuts a sorry picture, just because a ground rule was over looked... Any review must be in "good->bad->ugly" synodrome and I don't believe that there wasn't anything good to be mentioned in the entire movie involving so many aspects!!!
i love people calling a spade a spade. but the writer i seems to be a coward and doesnt know how to write a good review about a GR8 movie like Aamir Khan's MANGAL PANDEY!! Aamir is one of d best actor that INDIAN CINEMA has produced and i mean it by every word of it. He is a true actor, who does films with a meaning and to put a word across the audience, and to remind them of the forgotten history of independence. Please dont criticize if u dont have the stomach to applaud a GR8 FILM and a GR8 ACTOR!!!! PLEASE....
i wonder whether the movie is really that bad, actually i haven't seen it but donot plan to see it, the way it has been criticised. but it is really shameful that ketan mehta has to resort to gimmicks such as item song and cleavage display. and coming from aamir khan it is disappointing. c'mon give us some better stuff to watch .
To get a positive review of this movie out of Raja Sen, all you need to do is replace 'Ketan Mehta' with 'Satyajit Ray' in the credits. Hypocrytes like Raja will, and always have, judged movies based on convenience and posturing. Reviewing for them, is more about ego boosts to the self, portraying oneself as an intellectual, rather than merits of the movie itself. Take it from me, if Satyajit Ray was an unknown director without his lifetime Oscar, Raja Sen would have trashed his movies too. It's not about the movies...it's all about the name-dropping. This guy has been dishing out regular tripe like this for too long and I think readers are a bit tired of it. Yes, there should always be multiple viewpoints, but we're talking about readability, and not just virulent attacks disguised as intelligent movie reviews. There are hundreds of intelligent, down-to-earth, honest film critics out there who are a pleasure to read even when they critisize your favourite movie. It's time Rediff thought about rotating their staff around a little more, and posting this guy somewhere else. The far side of Pluto would be a good beginning.
actually movie is not according to expectations but some people are opposing it because of love of amir. i thought that there is no need to invest such a large amount of money to create such a bad movie not worst.
