First, i gotta complement the writer of the movie. there are some awsome dialogues. in one scene, Mangal asks Heera 'are you not ashamed of selling your body to goras?' Heera replies, 'we are only selling our body but you soldiers are selling your soul(by supporting brits)'. i am sure there migt not be a prostitue told this to mangal in reality. but that is the greatness of movie writing. it definetely reflects the mood of people at that time.
one thing that is wrong is, like any other Indian movie, for that matter hollywood movies also, they make things one man show. there should be more emphasis on sepoys as a team. the movie should have highlighted more sepoys. its always team work, not one man show.
looks like the critic has some personal issues with Amir. this critic is not eligible for reviews. the film is better than most(90%) of the movies came in this decade. there is nothing wrong with the hair. Indians are always reluctant for change. i guess the critic can enjoy 100 crappy routine love stories in a row. there will always be lot of dramatization in the movie. otherwise it will be a boring documentary. even with lack of physic, amir still impresses in his role
Excuse me, Mr. Raja Khan, but you cannot just state your personal opinion on the movie and act like it is a true fact when it is clearly not!!! You are making this movie seem like a disaster when it is doing such awesome business. This is obviously your own biased opinion. And Aamir Khan is outstanding in this movie, I can't even put into words how moved I was by his superb performance. Every critic praised Aamir Khan, if not the movie. So I think that calling him an actor in quotes is pretty harsh and honestly, very stupid! Aamir Khan rocks and the movie rocks! It is the biggest movie of the year without a doubt! I had a blast watching it 3 times!!! At least I didn't have to suffer through some crappy Yash Chopra/Karan Johar movie and watch ShahRukh Khan cry like a...well a girl!!! Aamir is what you call a real actor. Even if the script of the movie may not be perfect, Aamir sure is! Calling Aamir an actor in quotes is just pathetic and makes it obvious that it is a biased opinion!!!
may i know who r u .. writing so bad about this movie.. if u have talent to judge a movie than u should direct a movie...and i will see that movie!!it is easy to comment than to perform.. Its a much good movie than those which released since last 2-3 years.
Seems like people are are against the critic rather than the criticism. Anyways i dont care much bout the reviews but i surely enjoy reading the reviews....a good portion of humor makes it worthwhile.
The reviewer of "Mangal Pandey" got it wrong! When I exited the cinema after watching Mangal Pandey, I experienced the same pride that I had felt when I had watched the movie "Gandhi". I am certain that such emotions are evoked by artists of the highest caliber - there is no question in my mind that I will watch this movie again and again and again.
this is ur first review i have read...i feel ur sick and u went into the theatre waiting to find mistakes...hey ppl the movie is not all that bad...making a movie out of 3 paragraphs from a history book itself shows the guts andconfidence the director and mr.khan has in the story...and one must see aamir's acting..woh superb and to support him eqaully well was stephens too...and nobody said mangal pandey was the perfect human on earth...so what if he follows untouchability and still roam around with a prostitute(rani)...he is just attracted to her...but i still feel amisha was there just for skin...the story would have not lost anything without amisha...so mr.raja change ur attitude towards cinema...encourage them...and give a good review atleast next time.
Iam not sure about the movie... since i haven't seen it... but about the music...YES... it is one of the finest tracks you could hear... Please make sure you listen to the music before you could review about it. The only thing that's against the music is that its offbeat... not a regular kind... and as always... this Rahman track does grows on to you after few listenings..... but you need to LISTEN.... Please tell me whats wrong with the music.... isn't the mujra one of the finest you could have heard in recent times.... so are other tracks...
Aren't we taking / reviewing about someone who has taken Indian music to the next level... whos music is discussed or reviewed at international arena... whos music is waited for release by everyone.....
So mr. Raaja the next time you review Rahman's music... just listen to it for 2-3 times.... then review abt it....
I saw this picture in a multicomplex. The picture is good in places and AAmir has acted well. That is about all. the story lacks cogency and good acting of khan is not enough to save the film. I feel happy that ash dropped out of the movie. The role was inappropriate and nowhere fit for her stature. Khan had tried to manipulate her. Over all the distortion in the movie will make it fail.
