Very well said. Though am an Indian who wants this IT industry to be in india for a while or decade, I got to accept this ground reality as no good infrastructure or not big change happened after this IT boom in INDIA.

R Roy - atleast where I live (Cyberbad) its well developed. Excellent infrastructure. These were not available prior to IT boom. So please do not generalize. To begin with IT has given jobs to many tech folks (direct and indirect). Telll which other field has created so much wealth?

If you all really dont know the situation of satyam and its employees especially the freshers please donot comment they had paid 2 lakh rupee as bond money for this job and what ever is the situation they cannot watch out for job as they are in bond and there is no work in company also. And if you talk about there salary from last 1 year some who are completing 2 years no increment in salary they are worst affected what you will say now.

Tech mahindra has the management control and please be advised that they are not the whole/sole owner. Its a public company and have many people are share holder of this company. So
Satyam being a public company, the management needs to go by the principal laid down in company act 1956. So its not quite like the way we do with our maid servant. However if the board approves layoff, that can happen. But whats pathetic is congress's intervention to hold on to lay-off uptill election.

6 months pre-condition was there. but actually theres no precedence of such type, its a special case condition, if TechMahindra moves to court that can get changed, also they can convince the board of directors citing the reason of viability of business operations

Rediff has become worse than gossiping old women.
Before publishing any such Trash, in the name of news, it should just take 1 moment to think of what impact it wil have on those 55 thousand satyam employees who may be reading this trash.

Employees are equally important as Clinets are
by damuluri kumar on May 15, 2009 05:57 PM  | Hide replies

Lay-Off has become a buzz word these days. I strongly believe, these laid off employees in IT domain will end in a better place than Satyam. India could gain a lot out of the global economic slow down because of the cost advantages. Also, its time for employers to recognize and prioritize employees as equally important as clients are. Look at this as an opportunity. You are in demand if you have a model in hand which reduces operating expenses. No worries IT folks, future remains bright if you are commited to innovate. I heard people say perform or perish but I think its time to Innovate or Isolate.

offers to the laid off staff will be meagre in recession market
by Radhakrishna on May 15, 2009 05:56 PM  | Hide replies

the laid off satyam staff will get offers in the range of 10 to 15 thousand because theare are those who joined it sector in its prime time eventhough they are not having competency and expertise. In addition they havr submitted fake experience certificates. All these facts will now be unearthed. I am sure they dont get good offers since they are duds. They should realise the facts and act accordingly.
