Countries like philipines and china should com eup in IT since inian management is poor Indian management does not excel in service it is only who ever licks boss ass well are promoted and retained not the genuine talent so why not give philiopines or china a chance Indian govt is least bothered about Indian people what did they do when IT boomed did they improve infrastructure or something like that they did nothing and will do nothing and just keep watching no progress no safety no regulation Indian law is jungle law

Very well said. Though am an Indian who wants this IT industry to be in india for a while or decade, I got to accept this ground reality as no good infrastructure or not big change happened after this IT boom in INDIA.

R Roy - atleast where I live (Cyberbad) its well developed. Excellent infrastructure. These were not available prior to IT boom. So please do not generalize. To begin with IT has given jobs to many tech folks (direct and indirect). Telll which other field has created so much wealth?
Dudes layoff was the necessity..it was to be done...the clause was only valid for top higher employeess...550 cr every month .....no one can afford for non billablee employees....the smarter have already quit and some are still wandering....

If you all really dont know the situation of satyam and its employees especially the freshers please donot comment they had paid 2 lakh rupee as bond money for this job and what ever is the situation they cannot watch out for job as they are in bond and there is no work in company also. And if you talk about there salary from last 1 year some who are completing 2 years no increment in salary they are worst affected what you will say now.

im just wondering how can this business run. 40000 employess and more than half of them are non-billable. I also think layoff is imminent. But as reported, the way congress intervened to holup layoff uptill election is pathetic
Tech Mahindra has taken the advantage of this current political situation when there is no govt in Center, now IT employees of satyam can approach Supreme Court in order top get a stay asap .

oye saxena rona band kar Tech Mahindra has every right to prune workforce and it is in interest of people who will be kept... With this workforce none of them will survive

Mr. Rohit Saxena, when tech mahindra took over satyam, it is the whole & sole owner. It can take any decision. Better keep your mouth shut

Throw Rakshanda away. How she can be happy if someone is losing job. Typical pessimist attitude
Re: Re: Satyam layoff
by Atanu Chatterjee on May 15, 2009 06:45 PM
Tech mahindra has the management control and please be advised that they are not the whole/sole owner. Its a public company and have many people are share holder of this company. So Satyam being a public company, the management needs to go by the principal laid down in company act 1956. So its not quite like the way we do with our maid servant. However if the board approves layoff, that can happen. But whats pathetic is congress's intervention to hold on to lay-off uptill election.

6 months pre-condition was there. but actually theres no precedence of such type, its a special case condition, if TechMahindra moves to court that can get changed, also they can convince the board of directors citing the reason of viability of business operations

Mr. Debasis Ray, what do u know abt company polices? when tech mahindra took over satyam, it is the whole & sole owner. It can take any decision. Better keep your mouth shut.

Your second sentence is unnecessary. Everybody has their own level of lnowledge and opinion. Please observe some decorum.
when will rediff learn. They r hell after bringing one speculation after another. IF they dare why not publish the so called "internal sources" and ppl who give such internal news "on the condition of anonymity". They r just trading news.. feeding their stuffs. Hell lot

I agree with you totally Mr. Bagula Bhagat. Rediff has become worse than gossiping old women. Before publishing any such Trash, in the name of news, it should just take 1 moment to think of what impact it wil have on those 55 thousand satyam employees who may be reading this trash.
Lay-Off has become a buzz word these days. I strongly believe, these laid off employees in IT domain will end in a better place than Satyam. India could gain a lot out of the global economic slow down because of the cost advantages. Also, its time for employers to recognize and prioritize employees as equally important as clients are. Look at this as an opportunity. You are in demand if you have a model in hand which reduces operating expenses. No worries IT folks, future remains bright if you are commited to innovate. I heard people say perform or perish but I think its time to Innovate or Isolate.

when these employees were hired for huge amount of salaries, no one asked why they are being paid these much without verifyig their experience. Now when time of their layoff came, then ever bugger is taking

Are you mad ....you r not a good human being....Think for the ecomony!! think for India...think for the people !!! if not you can not advice any people to make their mouth shut!!!! even we have power to scold to PM!!! YOU R NOTHING !!!!
the laid off satyam staff will get offers in the range of 10 to 15 thousand because theare are those who joined it sector in its prime time eventhough they are not having competency and expertise. In addition they havr submitted fake experience certificates. All these facts will now be unearthed. I am sure they dont get good offers since they are duds. They should realise the facts and act accordingly.

Mr. RK - by your logic the clients who are getting their work done are m*rons right? I know you are jealous maybe you are loser !!!
