it seems that you are really not updated and rarely read Business papers.... Even after the acquisition, the Brand Satyam will be retained by Tech Mahindra..... Moreover, For your kind information, picture is no more rosy for the employees at IT/ITES cos. There has been a drastic cost cutting measures been taken and lay offs are happening left-right and center.... Wud appreciate if you can update urself first before making any such comments in public forums... Plz dont make a mockery of yourself...

Sunny, if IT guys are typists so u will say all others including u, who use pens / pencils are clerks ....
why talking like n..ts , talk like a mature guy, lossing a job is like meeting the death for many.
You have achieved success by successfully destroying satyam through mitas and made congress to sit in andhra.
you also destroyed the future of crores of BC's and ST and STs by allowing reddys to eat money like a grass. all your community reddys are now worth thousands of crores.
During the IT boom non of the employees looked at the welfare of the institute. They changed the companies for few more bucks. Now it is the turn of the management to save few more bucks.

@Gowda... they are not typist, they are copy cats.. copy paste code form one to another and rub the fat as*es on chair

dude. .think practical. U can write ur own code if u do some R & D job. If u have some code available , they why do u need to write new code within available time frame. u got to copy paste. Also, its not exact copy paste, u need to modify and then make is work with ur app.

Samuel.. if u type code - u address them as typists. If u copy paste, they u call them as copy-pasters. So what developers should do ?

Re: 12,000 non-existing employees
by Jayesh Kelkar on May 15, 2009 05:48 PM
lol....but I think they have already discounted that figure. When it was Raju, no. of employees were abour 53K. IN this article they are putting it at 40K.
Re: 12,000 non-existing employees
by vivek on May 15, 2009 06:09 PM
IT professionals are not daily workers to take cash payment with out any record. They are getting monthly salary through Bank and IT is deducted from their salary. So, it is not ssibile to enroll non-existing employees. To collect real information from Rajus and to show their efficiency in court, the Public Prosecutors create such news out of thin air.

i'd say if you're that desperate - hire urself a nice maid (good looking and well-endowed preferably - there's no dearth of them in India) just before she leaves. And give her the looks when you're wife is around ;) Then your wife will think twice about going - if she goes anyway. Then she trusts you to be good around the maid - means, she's clean and you can repay her trust by letting the maid go as soon as she leaves. But if she stays, means she doubts you'll be able to control your urges - means she has strong ones of her own - so that's an indication there could be something going on.

Looks like u have come to this forum to do timepass... or u need some treatment..
All IT employee should form an union as per Indian Law in all IT companies. While satarting your carrier don't see only the package please see your job security also.

What happens to those who jump? Then there should be a two way bond or 3 or 5 years with renewal option
Re: Re: Employee Union
by sreedhar s on May 15, 2009 05:46 PM
If we start IT unions then companies will leave India. Kerala and westbengal are examples to show that the unions spoil the industrialisation. If such thing like unions happen then all IT employees should migrate to gulf to do some blue collar jobs.
Re: Employee Union
by Jayesh Kelkar on May 15, 2009 05:51 PM
Forming unions will not solve the problems. When It was booming, IT professionals were getting paid nicely with good appraisals.
Now that the tide has turned, employers do not have cash to distribute as salary.
I remember Anand Mahidra & senior execs of Tech Mahindra telling the media on the day of the take over that there were no plans at all of retrenching employees. How is it that within a month, they realized they had 14000 extra employees.I have no problems in companies laying employees off .I have a huge problem with white lies like the one above by Mahindras.
Re: Lies & damn lies
by Jayesh Kelkar on May 15, 2009 05:53 PM
Situations change from time to time. Mahindra does not have excess cash to sustain the bench(and even if they have, they will not do it).
Re: Lies & damn lies

Tech Mahindra are here to make business work and not like Raju to make fraud.Employees layed off will find new job according to his merit but atleast company will be save
Re: Re: Lies & damn lies
by Rajesh Shetty on May 15, 2009 05:50 PM
What do u mean 'company will be saved'...?? Remember employees are the heart and sould of any company. This is not a trivial matter so that u easily say its okay if 14,000 are sacked. Raju illegally committed fraud and Anand Mahindra is legally doing a wrong thing. Why were they saying all these days that saving 40,000 families was very important ? Now ..?? After his job is done, he can change colors easily..
Re: Re: Re: Lies & damn lies

Typical mindset of "employee".
I have seen almost every programmer carryingthe attitude that his coding skills keep the company running.
The actual heart and soul of the company is the marketing team which induces sales and directors which decide of strategies. Programmers and coders are in plenty, no scarcity of them.
I know most programmers here will cribb about what I have said above. But just ask yourself: If you were really the heart-n-soul, the company would have not laid you off under any condition, or may be the company will shutdown if they lay you off. Did any of these happen?
The higher guys are still sitting in their affluent AC offices, have stinking rich apartments and lifestyle - And on the other hand - these supposedly "heart-and-souls" are worrying about being laid off and defaulting on their loans and other committments.
I think this should be enough to realize where you *actually* stand in the whole India, Inc. Please don't get fooled by the "feel good" talk of the human resources dept or senior management - they are highly skilled in manipulating employees by inflating their self-image.
I am sorry if I have been harsh in my words, but then reality is harsh.
