I do not know , from where this minister is? I know ,he is a businessman and you can see what quality of business, he is doing with air India, he can earn profit by selling bidi but when it comes to a PSU, which is headed by him, he shows the immense loss,,,
Two messages are clear frol this
The land or party from where he is, have not nationalism in its veins
He wants to buy Air India in collaboration with Kingfisher (malya)

Misconception
by Prem Mohan on Jul 07, 2009 07:48 PM  | Hide replies

All the noise about Air India is because of a basic misconception. Air India has two main purposes: (a) Paying fat salaries to its indolent and boorish employees and (b) providing first class and business seats for politicians and senior government officers.

Paying passengers gave up on Air India long ago, particularly on international sectors. Air India is a pathetic airline of last resort. And yet our Government, with its concern for the aam admi, will bail it out, no matter what the cost.

In the meantime, 60% of our population will continue to defecate and urinate in the open air.

An employment opportunity is a job where a person is supposed to work for his or her salary. Unfortunately, the employees of Air India show no inclination to do so. In their case, it is maximum salary for minimum work. Their attitude to passengers is one of extreme indifference. The public has no sympathy if Air India employees are not paid for a few months.

Air India.

I travel thrice a year to India from Germany. Took air India only once, pathetic service, no co-ordination, rude air hostess (one was so heavy, god forbid if something would have gone wrong, rather than she helping passengers; passengers had to rescue her) and third class service. Always taking Lufthansa since then, it is couple hundred Euro more, but I am saving some money to have hazel free travel. I do not understand why govt should give the tax payers' money to these s/h/i/t eaters.

If Lufthansa and Emirates can get passengers, why can't Air India? After all it is the pride of our nation!

Congress leaders failure
by AMOL GABHANE on Jul 07, 2009 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

Mr Patel is responsible for Air India's bad condition Mr Patel must take responsibility and resign from post of Aviation ministry as he proved that he is not liable for that post then also he is shamelessly saying to revamp the board, always congress proved that they don’t have good leaders and this is the party which is pushing country in a big danger, when congress got majority at that time who got happy do you know Italy, US, Pakistan, Bangladesh because western country spreading Christianity and Pakistan can do his terrorist attacks very easily, more than that Muslim community always with congress why ?? because only congress supports them only, you know that Afzal Guru has death sentence but still he is live even Bangladeshi people coming to India illegally and congress supporting them to increase his vote bank without thinking about our country then also my country people voting them stop this and vote any other than congress plz and save my country.

Praful Patel is of course to blame. He has made the people of India buy dozens of new planes for Air India, ignoring the fact that its employees are indolent, boorish and lazy.

Shut down this Jurrasic airline
by Suresh on Jul 07, 2009 07:43 PM

Shut down Air India. We will not let tax payers money fund the salaries of the fat cats at Air India. They pay a painter - 40,000 rupees salary. And what about incentives? They get incentives which are double their salary. What productivity have they shown for the incentive to be paid? The employees should be sacked and the airline sold to a private player who is willing to shoulder this holy mess called Air India.

Time to show that Singh is king
by Umesh Shah on Jul 07, 2009 07:41 PM

Cleaning up operation should start from the top. Minister should be bundled out first.

Ex-staffer's family continues to enjoy free tickets irrespective of the age of their off springs. Even their married daughters and adult sons gets free tickets.

Best option is to pull the shutter down on the airline. One it will save lots of money which can be better used some where else and second, it will send a clear cut message to other badly managed PSUs. For a better tomorrow, Manmohan Singh has to be ruthless. He no longer has an excuse of leading a coalition govt. It's time to act and show that Singh is king !
