My Refund for the returns submitted in 08 june is yet to come ...THERE shud be a way of checking the status of processed Returns in website if anyone has any idea pls publish the same where we can put in our pan no and submit to know the status of the refunds and the return filed...

I'm yet to get the IT refund for the FY 2006-07 itself. So, be happy that you are in a better position than me.
I received my IT refund for 2007-2008 recently but the IT Dept has entered the incorrect PAN number on the cheque thereby causing a lot of embarassment. Now they want me to come over and meet them in person may be to take care of their breakfast , lunch and dinner ! What is fully there fault has been blamed upon the tax payer now . My PAN number in the cheque given by them has special characters !Can someone help in getting these sarkaari babus to their job properly and be more customer friendly ?
Everybody is out to get a piece of the pie, the political parties go for the biggest slices while the government employees have to be content with trifles. All started with Nehru-MK Gandhi duet, the former raped the country to be the PM while the latter stripped it bear for his spiritual emancipation.

Very well said. Totally agree, corruption is the only gift of Nehru Dynasty to the poor and gullible Indian masses, and now the loot is being shared with Laloo, Amar Singh, Marans, Rajaa, and Karunanidhi. And part of it, is being shared with the media (the CNN-IBN, Aaj Tak StarPLus, NDTV - and many others). So, the best party, and easily the least corrupt (not totally free from the stink the Nehru-Indira-Rajiv-Sonia Maino-RUhul-Priyanka Vadra clan has spread across the country) and most progressive and nationalistic party, the BJP - has little chance. Poor guys do not have enough money after the spend it all in MP and Raj elections in Dec-2008. For SOnia, the Italians and the Murdochs, besides off-course the stolen wealth stashed in Swiss accounts, is always there. Fellow Indians, wake up and throw out these corrupt, do nothing,dynastic and anti-national COngress-UPA-Mayawati-Leftists out of this country. Just banish them, and India and all Indians (of every faith and caste) will feel actually free to pursue their dreams...and the Army and the security forces can then strategize, and re-group, armed with proper anti-terrorist laws, and treat these anti-nationals like they should be treated (sent back to whereever they came from, outside Indian borders). IT refund problem is part of the stench spread by the Nehru-SOnia dynasty and their Congress-UPA chamchas. For the babus feel - if the politians can do, why not the hands that feed these politicians. God save India, Indians.
How primitive! These are the same outmoded handcuffs from the circa 1850s era. And you'd think the cops would have somewhere to put them and keep their hands free(just in case they needed to arrest a real criminal) instead of having to hold on to these ancient behemoths. No wonder this is such a backward, primitive, underdeveloped land.
cbdt has the most taxing system of working. I got my refund after eight long years without any interest but Im thankful at least I got it that too without any under table transaction. The tax system should be simplified so taxman has less work and people will be encouraged to pay taxes. Also, wonder what kind of software system they are using if ultimately they have to give all access to operators instead of need to know basis...

My sympathies are with u that u got ur refund after a wait of 8 long years , but unable to understand that u got it that too WITHOUT ANY INTEREST !!!!! THIS IS NOT POSSBLE , IF TRUE U SHUD FILE A COMPLAINT AND GET THE SAME AND ALSO CLAIM INTEREST ON UNPAID INTEREST ...PLS CHEK THIS PROPERLY AND DON'T LEAVE THESE b-----S...
Look at the first picture. People making crowd around the officers. How can the matters be resolved even for a single person in this manner? When would our society know the importance of making a line, so everyone can get their turn and have privacy while discussing their matter with the govt official? Our mindset needs to be changed, govt should enforce the Queue system everywhere, even if it needs a whip on our behind....

Even then you have to grease the messenger getting you the IT refund or he goes back saying 'No one @ home'.
When guys are intrinsically unethical, there is a limit to what we can do - thats all.

I was watching one business news channel. There one lady officer from IT dept. was saying that FY08-09 tax will take much longer as the software was changed and had numerous bugs so its delaying the refund. FY07-08 refund will be cleared by Mar 31st 2009. All refunds below 25K will be processed without review. BUT ALL THESE STATEMENTS WERE AS FAKE AS EVERY OTHER CLAIMS. TO "BAD WORDS" WITH IT DEPT. i gave my a/c number for ECS credit, hope it wouldn't have fallen into wrong hands.. or i can hope for my a/c no/ falling in wrong hands and me getting someone else's refund of some 50-60 grands... ha ha ha ha....
