N. R. Narayanmurthy v/s Deve Gowda
by Mukesh Thakkar on Oct 23, 2005 09:44 AM  | Hide replies

What Mr. N. R. Naraynmurthy / Infosys & other IT companies have achieved is visible to any intelligent person in the world. And these achievements are praised by dynamic world leaders like Atalji, Bill Clinton etc. It is to the credit of Infosys and Wipro and other IT companies that visiting Prime Ministers of Japan and China had visited these companies in Bangalore (Karnataka ofcourse) prior to visiting New Delhi during their recent visits to India.

I share the predicaments of Mr. Narayanmurthy. Former Prime Minister has time and again shown his super personality. We have found him sleeping during important meetings. We have learned from TV interview that to regain his lost political career he had literally fallen on the feet of Ramkrishna Hegde. He has kept all his intelligence in cold store ever since he was active in politics.

The figure 2500 given by Infosys is the number of workers(non IT) working directly for Infosys. Obviously thats not the indirect employment created by Infosys. How dumb can one be to think so !!

Do you have any idea how much of indirect employment about 10-20000 families generate ? Remember we are talking about families not just individuals !!

Mr Murthy something fishy
by Maheswar Lal on Oct 23, 2005 08:54 AM  | Hide replies

I think to some extent Gowda remarks are correct ,acres of land which infosys has acquired is used by Infosys employees(basically coming from rest of india), which in turn generates a indirect employment of say 2500 jobs for Karanataka . I think Murthy wants those land in Bangalore so that,as the time passes the real estate value will grow which will again contribute total value of infosys.Instead of talking about bangalore , Murthy should move to areas where infrastructure is plenty .Bangalore is not the only city of India having infrastructure problems. Why is Mr Murthy making a hue and cry over Bangalore only.?

Because Bangalore has got so many IT companies already, its not easy for any company to move out of Bangalore. Now, why IT companies went to Bangalore in the first place is not because of local Kannadiga talent, but Bangalore has always been favorite destination for many people across the country because of good educational instutions etc, etc,. Now, when someone tells you to improve Bangalore, why the hell you object to it?? I find so strange when someone tells you to improve, you don't like it! Change your mindset and you will realize!

INDIAN Citizen
Do not classify yourself based on Language or Ethnicity

There were were a few postings that asked how many of the Infy Employees are Kannadigas.

This has to really open the eyes of Infosys - look how you are getting blamed (instead of being praised) for creating WONDERFUL workplace diversity.

Infosys has to plan on distributing its offices all over India - Even create new IT towns or villages - Look at Racine (WI - USA), Stillwater (OK - USA) they are all towns which are kept alive by few promintent industries or colleges.

If I may suggest, Infy should build a facility in rural areas next to mid sized cities like Coimatore, Tirissur, etc..

Politicians could really flame sectarianism attitude to their advanatage - Heaven's sake the Cauvery issue has not come up to put Kannadiga's & Tamil's at odds within Infy.

This brewing - nip it at the bud. Great work Infosys. Bring India (Indians) together.

Infosys is a pampered baby & Murthy an immatured businessman.
by nascentnet on Oct 23, 2005 06:35 AM

Infosys is a pampered baby and when ruthless Gowda made some allegations he is not wrong, the system works like that and Murthy who is so immatured is acting emotionally which is bad for allthe employees of Infosys as well as shareholders.

Every big company faces hurdles and when you face one, you don't have to be emotinal, you have to be shrewed like Tatas and Ambanis and work around your way otherwise you pose a danger to shareholderswealth.

No offence slave-trader Murthy :)

Just as Technocrats like NM leave politics to the politicians , I think DG should shut up and allow the Technocrats do their job.

Narayana Murthy Vs Deve Gowda
by prosenjit saha on Oct 23, 2005 04:13 AM

I am really disgusted at how irresponsible an Indian politician can be. Mr Deve Gowda should atleast have the decency to salute a man who has done so much for B'lore and India as a whole......oops!!! whom am I talking about .....a politician who rarely thinks about the greater interest of the country but is always concerned about his own interest. I feel sorry that a gentleman like Mr Murthy has faced such behaviour. Bangaloreans how long will you reap on the benefits given to you by My Murthy....stand by him....atleast stand by him and take the help of democracy to answer what you really feel. It is your city and your state and you are the best judge to who has done more for Karnataka????
