Deve Gowda - Better take Sanyas
by pras on Oct 22, 2005 01:14 PM

I think it is more than ripe time for an unsound person like Deve Gowda to take Sanyas from politcs and spend time within 4 walls of his house.

I think infy wasted its precious time answering to foolish questions who has become king maker just becuase BJP and congress are weak in the state.

A person who could backstab his mentor like Hedge, could do anything mad.

Gowda, please go to himalaya soon as possible, may be infy can sponsor a aircraft for him.

Software giant or real estate empire?
by Ananda Kumar on Oct 22, 2005 12:56 PM  | Hide replies

An illustration how money power can be used in India. Why do you need acres of land for software development. I am a software engineer and I know how much space it needs to deploy a software engineer.

India is a poor country Mr. Murthy. Spare us some land (I mean a 30X40 site). You are too rich a man to build private cricket grounds and host public matches like India- Australia women's matches and issue passes to your loved ones.( I am from karnataka and a cricket lover. I was denied entry to watch the cricket match).

I need wait for years and years to get 30X40 site alloted to me. One needs to take Deve Gowda's views seriously wether it is politically motivated or genuine concern.

Hi,
Wonder why u are so disappointed to get a ticket to a woman's cricket match? In Delhi it is almost impossible to get tickets even to a match between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, as all of the tickets are booked by politicians (Central or State), have we fellow cricket lovers raised questions on our politicians then?... I think it was the gals you were missing...not the cricket.
Have you ever seen politicians encourage sports... and how many ppl turn up to see National Games, to encourage our athletes? Now if a company encourages sports and wants full attendence then is it wrong to give the benifits to its employees?
I am a s/w engineer too...and i agree that all u need to develop software is a table, chair and computer... but is that all u want to do when u go to ur job? sit in front of a mbnitor typing ur code to glory...wonder what quality of work u produce, as over a preiod of time its jus gonna go down.
Infosys does not just stand for Jobs but also to a lifestyle... A quality one at that.
Well u have a good day and maybe ponder as to why Infy is such a profitable company in a industry of such cut-throat compition. And maybe have a beer later.
Srikanth

The Infosys - BAIL episode
by Ravi on Oct 22, 2005 12:27 PM  | Hide replies

Infosys as the largest and the most profitable software company has attracted the attention of the local politicians. This is only to be anticipated.
The resignation of Mr Narayan Murthy is a sad developement in as much as it orphans BAIL of a talented professional. However, this foray of a succesful company to influence actions beyond it domain, has met with an expected end.
In India any development effort by the state must have the blessings of the politicans else it will go the way of most citizens' efforts: to the dusty files of the govt.
There seems to be a naivette in approaching such developement efforts sans local and state politicians. The public domain in all respects has been fully encroached by our politicians, religious godmen, social do-gooders of all hues; charity in public works is only a mask to conceal a self interest.Consequently, there is very little space left for the decent and honest citizen to improve even his immediate environment.
It is a tragedy of this benighted land.

hello sir,
First of all let me ask u what makes u think NarayanMurthy should so something for underpriviliged.. he is not elected by people ..nor is he answerable to anyone ..
He has set up a company and provided jobs to many of us.
Be thankful to him that atleast he is helping middle class people from becoming underpriviliged ..or else consider goverment jobs for all thsoe who do their engineering.
It is very easy to blame others and see bad in others.if possible try to see some good in people.
