Don't give up hope

Hi,
Being an engineering graduate myself from a lesser known college, I know the exact way in which the so-called top notch companies function. It is a fact that students from lesser known colleges hardly get marks in orals, practicals mostly because the professors in their college are a frustrated lot.

Add to that ATKTs and no first class. Thats pretty much the end of the road, huh? Well, not quite. As the market gets increasingly competitive, the company you work for doesn't matter as much as the skillsets you possess. If you are good at what you do, sky is the limit. Initially, a degree in any branch seems ok, but to me it seems like 4 years down the drain, with stuff you would never use in the real world. I encourage students to choose their discipline wisely. No company ignores a smart professional. It helps in the long run.

I got into a company for low stipend for 3 months. But it was good experience. Within a matter of 8 months, I joined another company which was energetic, paid extremely well, sent me to US, most importantly the work was very interesting which doesn't happen in many huge cos. I got calls from these bigger cos but didn't join them. How's that:)
