This message is for all those ATKT's like me. Guys and gals no worries just follow my advice. Here it goes... My advice is that after you complete your respective degrees, if you are very keen in making career in IT then join the course which is in demand in the market. Put your sincere efforts, spend max. hrs at Lab and do the various types of job hunts that's it.
Be confident. Every dog has its day. And dear rashmi and companies don't underestimate ordinary B.Scs Ok.
This article reflects the actual hapennings in IT industry..even if you happen to be a underdogs category because of the market conditions or any other reason, there is always a way to achieve what you have lost.. I was in underdogs group when i graduated, but a sustained effort and an optimistic approach put me into the top cats list now..

To add to the facts I graduated in year 2001, probably the worst year for any CS grad. to graduate. Way back in 2000 before the bubble burst, we had campus recruitments (around 6th sem), then came the bubble burst... many had 4 offers in hand and almost all 4 of them had their joining dates extended indefinitely. To add fuel to the misery ... when we came out.... within months ....september 11 happened... it just broke any hopes we had for end 2001,early 2002. Everyone was devastated. And now within a span of 2 years... it's back. IT folks you are simply great...keep up your never give up attitude!
This is not actualy true always. If your eyes are set on a sofware job only OR any other very particular job, then its ok. Otherwise its not a wise thing to do. You should always go for a subject of your liking. College profile can be enhanced later through higher studies in engineering. But bad subject once selected, you will have to live with it all your life. Gone are the days when a civil engineer from somewhere was able to Mtech in CS. Now its very strict and I dont think possible at all.
Hi, Iam working as a software engineer in a small software concern. Iam very much impressed with ur article. ur word of 3-6 months of sincere effort will definitely make a difference
