They are fleecing
by NIRANJAN L on Jun 04, 2008 07:43 PM

I have had a similar experience. Infact it was on my mom's prepaid reliance account. On enquiring she was informed by the Chembur (Mumbai) Reliance world personnel that there's nothing she can do about it. But on enquiring from another Reliance world outlet I was told that its not at all mandatory but an option & got it deactivated from there. Just imagine, if they do it with 50 lakhs customers every month, they stand to gain Rs. 15 Crores every month. So, this is how they earn profits. I would recommend every Reliance customer to closely monitor their monthly billing. Its worth paying extra to have an itemised billing service.

Many of friends have complained the same. On enquiry, the service provider added a free Rs 50/- to his account. (Just to say shut up and don't spread.)

by Raghu KJ on Jun 04, 2008 07:02 PM

Well, i guess all operators have started using this tactic to genarate more revenue. how else can vodafone make up for the huge money it paid to hutch??? every month they charge me for some service or th other which i never requested for. SMS pack, STD pack, caller tune, etc...the list goes on. sometimes i fight it out and get a refund, sometimes i just dont have the patience to fight it out, sometimes i wouldne even know i am ripped off. is there really no end to this?

I agree to it
by SANJAY KAUSHIK on Jun 04, 2008 06:35 PM

I have faced the same problem 20 days back and when i reported my concern to the helpdesk last week the executive said it was done by your permission and where as i remember i have not done any such activation and if i do activate then why i will put such a dirty tone i will put a tone i like it.

when i called the reliance helpdesk 1st they confirmed that it is free for 1st month and will be charged if we do not activate it. in the call er ring tone subscriber wil not come to know untill some one point out to him and if not done by any one the subscriber will not come to know at all till he receiveds the bill. They activated without confirmation. it is a clear cheating and they are not ready to accept it.

I think we should raise a alarm in this regards and government should act soon to control. I agree with murali that govt should introduce number portability

In our family we aer useing the services of tata, airtel& MTNL.My experiences:- Some time back I received a call from airte and the voice was not clear.I asked the caller to call after some time. But the caller was going on telling somthing and finally the call was disconnecte.Within minutes the balance was reduced by Rs.50/-.On enquiry I was told that I ofted for some services to be activated and henc the charge.I lodged a complient and an email with strong words.Within minutes I got my account credited.
Lost week my son's handset was stollen in a Thane bus stop.Immidiately I tryed to contact Airtel custommer care centre to deactivate the Zim card but airtel was goining on playing the music to sell their products. At lost one voice live voice came and I explained the situation and asked him to block and deactivate my zim.But airtel man told me that he can not do any thing and asked me to approach any airtel gallary for that service. It at night 11 pm and airtelpeople know very well that I can not lodge any complient till next day 10 AM.and their counterpart theief will use the phone and they can earn revenue.
Again on next day I went to a nearest airtel gallery and requested to deactivate the card and give a new card for Rs.150/-.They a gave new card but informed that their system was down for lost couple of days & they aer not sure when they act upon my complaint. On that day I saw many people with sa complient. These people earn crores in sale agains tstolen cards & Calls.
