So EVM fraud is not so far-fetched after all
by flynn on Jul 06, 2009 11:14 AM

This is according to one Mr Sehgal, IAS, who demonstrated a Trojan Horse on July 3rd. The Election Commission is now forced to prove that fraud was not possible.

Kafkaesque, to say the least !!!
by piri on May 31, 2009 05:41 PM

An extraordinarily make-believe venture by Rajeev Srinivasan with the absolutely absurd, the extremely ridiculous and the most unlikely !!!

Rajeev Srinivasan cribbed in 2004 in similar fashion (though he was more forthright with his impatience at the Indian voter then). This time though, he has decided to hide his extreme frustration with the electors' choice and seek to 'highlight' what else might have caused the defeat of the 'extremely exclusive, legitimate and rightful' claim of the BJP to rule India !!!!

Oh! And Rajeev Srinivasan might certainly have explained why the left in Bengal finally has been overtaken so by 'Didi' and the Congress !!!

The alternative
by Kes Som on May 23, 2009 05:44 PM

The reason why Congress won is because the alternative (BJP) was even worse. BJP has committed every single mistake the Congress has, and then some more.

People have such bad memories of the BJP government that unless the BJP completely sweeps out the old leaders, it will be hard for them to win again.

Your plan
by Girish on May 22, 2009 12:47 AM

Rajeev Srinivasan please post your plan of how India should go about her business in the coming say 25 years ; I think your projections are going to convince a lot of people that way.

Instead of analysing the current mess and pointing out the errors I think you should offer a positive program say ,in your blog.

Your talents and genius would contribute to the solution of our problems instead of exposing the pitiful inadequacies and probable criminal motives of current day leaders , aiming to keep us all under their thrall forever.

It may be too late to help even members of our generation , but the youth may still be saved .

I'm sorry Rajiv, but you've finally lost it.

Losing with dignity is much better than whining after a debacle. Disappointing, poorly researched article.

grow up sanghis
by poovannan ganapathy on May 20, 2009 11:00 PM  | Hide replies

its nice and pleasant to see the cribbings of sanghis from top to bottom.most of the exit polls to predicted the same with just 20 to 30 seat difference. were they also polled on electronic voting machines. all bjp ruled states like karnataka, chattisgarh, himachal, gujarat,mp voted for bjp while delhi, haryana, andhra voted for congress. it was predicted that congress will sweep in kerala and punjab and in jharkand bjp has done well after soren comedies.the exit polls predicted 20/20 in tamilnadu and the final tally was 28/12.the same with maharashtra.the only surprise was uttarkhand where the ruling bjp lost all five and it was due to its own minister quitting and fighting as bsp candidate, and the ally resigning during elections.
except for the upper castes i rarely see any support for the sangh propaganda.some misguded tribals like in khandmal may be voting for bjp but majority of dalits/obcs/christians/muslims are against bjp.i interac t with people all across the country due to my job and yet to see a dalit who is a militant hindutvavadi.

I thought DMK/LTTE ruffians would keep quiet now that Prabhakaran has met his bitter end.

Rajeev - YOU are your own worst enemy!
by Radhakrishna Iyer on May 20, 2009 12:58 PM  | Hide replies

There were times that I would react to this columnist's comments and write something about it. However the fact remains that with some disjointed thoughts and hallucinations no one needs to say anything to bury this walking dead man. He is his own worst enemy. When he talks of Trojans - what does he attribute the victory of the BJP to in the two elections they won as late as 1999? What sort of Trojans were used then? I remember he had come with a hair brained idea that the BJP does not have to attempt to woo the country were minorities were concerned. I had written then that I could punch a hundred holes in this theory but I did not want to do so because it was a sure fire recipe for disaster. Right enough - with Modi and Varun Gandhi putting his sick and exclusion of minorities ideas into practice actually buried the BJP. The Hindus of India are not brain dead and they can think for themselves. The bottomline of the flawed BJP thinking is the hype they create to such an extent that they start believing in it themselves. Any one who can fool themselves is the biggest fool.

One look at the hate campaign run by the Communal forces in this section - the sick language used against a very noble Prime Minister and what he was 'supposed' to be doing must have disgusted many. I don't think that this helped the BJP cause in any way except disgust.

The negative hate filled campaign results in the election are proof of this - Not Trojans in the EVMs and other hallucinations

Hmm.. "John Thomas" and the "Pop Fan" demonstrate the trypical reaction of the rude sanghis. When confronted with a true message go for a personal attack.

What is your problem if someone posts with nick/ anonymous name(s)? By the way, why do you yourself use such handles like"John Thomas" and the 'Pop Fan" et al? The irony and the hypocricy of it.. This "John Thomas" is by the way a typical vicious internet hate-monger (read through his posts elsewhere..).

Incidentally, the likes of Goutier, Tarun Vijay, and RS need to be criticised (or 'attacked' as you say) for advocating the crude divisive 'ideology" and the pogroms of the sectarian RSS and its violent uncouth outgrowths like VHP/ Bajdal. They deserve it in full measure.

I just read 'Radhakrishna Iyer's page on rediff, and found out that he is a fellow who used to post as 'Ruxak', but has adopted this new handle presumably because the old one got too exposed.

Out of curiosity, I checked 'Ruxak's page and found that all he does is attack people like RS, Francois Gautier, Tarun Vijay et al viciously and personally. There is a clear thread to his writing: "I am a big-time Congress supporter, and I love everything the Congress does." It is hard to take anything seriously from a person who is so dogmatic and biased, in the absence of any other information about his qualifications to pontificate as he does. He is a classic Internet troll, attempting to create problems by hiding behind his anonymity.
