Just a Km away from his locality the civic aminity is far supirior. You cannot say that some where else people do not have water all, so contend yourself with drinking dirty water. You sound like a typical Bihari Leader. Water, electricity, good road is our right. When people are aware they will manage to get things done! It is always correct to voice your rights.

The air you breathe will be taxed if UPA rules and Chidu FM!
by Pankaj Kumar on May 06, 2009 06:52 PM

Thank you stars that air you breath is not taxed till now. If Chidu becomes FM again there will be tax on breathing air, service tax on tax, super charge on the quality of air and more taxes.

I dont think BJP existed 5000 years back. What was your party doing when British, Arabs, Pathans, French... entered our country? Were they sleeping or entertaning these guests?

Any good scheme from BJP is bad for media
by dhandu on May 06, 2009 03:37 PM  | Hide replies

Yeddyurappa’s budget had encouraging news for several sections of the population — farmers, high school students, officials, researchers, patients, alike.

The decision to send 1000 farmers abroad on a study tour will expose them to different types of farming methods. Further a provision of Rs 750 crores as a support price for farm produce is good news.
Yeddi has given a fillip to ornamental fishery and has given an impetus to the establishment of goshalas for the protection of milch cattle. Extending free power to farmers with upto 10 HP pumpsets, introducing e-tendering to bring in transparency, allotting Rs 2 crore for reviving the river Arkavathy and establishing 500 foot bridges in the Malnad to bring connectivity to remote villages, are all heartening to note.

CM also deserves to be congratulated for providing free health insurance to poor families. Another noteworthy point, is the support given to the development of sandalwood cultivation, green villages and medicinal plants

This was a foolhardy scheme out to bribe farmers. Which is more cost effective-getting an overseas expert to stay here for 3 or 6 months and train all the farmers or sending out 2 Airbus 380 load of farmers on a foreign junket, with near zero understanding of English or any other foreign langauge. Here at least a translator can help.

drinking water
by naresh bhal on May 06, 2009 03:36 PM

read about Nishanta singh's problem.the problem is common in our country.some time govt and politician plan the project for drinking water but result is zero except some dameged physical stucture in cost of crores of rupees investment.
the thing we can do that is to discuss this preoblem with the effected families i.e. the villagers and should sought out the solution.the main thing during discussion many problems you will face but we should open the discussion and get some good suggessions and then take action on that. The local panchayat body has also some fund that can be approach.

BJPs Novel scheme – What did congress do in 60 years
by Lopesh S on May 06, 2009 03:36 PM  | Hide replies

Ladli Laxmi Yojana scheme was started by the BJP govt in MP in 2006. In a very short time, it has proved to be one of the most successful social welfare schemes in the history of the state. Under the scheme, the state govt buys saving certificates of Rs 6,000 each year for five consecutive years for every girl born in a family.

The girl gets Rs 2,000 after she completes her Class 5, another Rs 4,000 after she completes Class 8, Rs 7,500 after she completes the Class 10, Rs 200 per month in her 11th standard and a lumpsum amount of Rs 1,18,000 after she enters the 12th standard or, alternatively, attains the age of 18.

The principal aim of the scheme is to eliminate school dropout among girl students and to encourage them to study at least upto pre-college level.
The Kanyadhan Yojna: state gives Rs 7,500 for poor families @ time of a girl's marriage,
The Janani Suraksha Yojna: economic & health support to a pregnant woman till the time of delivery
This is what I (as an Indian) call development of girl child; unfortunately no media will project this, but will project BJP as T@liban if some Sene beats a girl who goes to a pub only coz it happened in a state ruled by BJP.

Appears to be a good scheme. But is this really reaching the needy? I doubt!
